Okay... All you guys out there with extra cash lying around. How are you investing/saving your hard earned dollars?

Is anyone buying gold? My wife is bugging me about this the past few weeks. I have never bought gold. I want to put the extra cash in some sort of college funds for my two daughters instead.

Com'on gold investors. Chime in.

Gold is the new Snuggie. Gold is for suckers..........really. The only one making any money in gold are those who have businesses that "Buy Gold"......(seriously, they kill it. Woman set up a table in a shopping mall and bought people's gold and cleared 50K. Not bad for three days work)

A financial planner can show you (historically) how mutual funds outperform gold ALL DAY LONG.....

Look into your states' 529 plan. Most likely your state offers a tax deduction and most plans have low expense fees, too.

If you have to own gold, go the ETF route or the gold trust under the ticker GLD.

Too much of a mark-up in buying gold coins at a dealer, IMO.

Gold seems to be on a never-ending march higher, but the minute I'd decide to buy gold it would correct 20%....:mj07:
