Why not list the rates instead of as a percentage of GDP

Top marginal rate is meaningless.

Percentage of GDP is much more meaningful, since almost no corporation pays the maximum 35% rate.

The effective tax rate for GE, for example, is 0.0% on $14,000,000,000 in profit for 2010.

According to the General Accounting Office, 2/3 of corporations pay zero income tax.

Thus the often repeated claim that US corporations are taxed @ 35% is nothing but red meat for teabaggers.

And you.

Wow.

2/3rds of corporations and 50% of the populace pay no taxes.

No wonder we are screwed.

Fix the tax code and you fix the country

The real killer is at a point in time you will have one party system of redistribution of wealth advocates- The more degenerates they can bring in the stronger the party. If they allowed illegals and felons to vote--we'd already have one party system.

-of course the productive will always do what it takes to continue their success--and there will always be somewhere that welcomes them.
Not everyone sees being productive--capitalism-
family values etc--as a bad thing.

I do not like to use GDP as government spending is calculated in the GDP.

The more a govt spends, the lower the tax rates look v GDP and the US govt spends alot.

Fine. Calculate US corporate taxes as a percent of income, percent of sales, percent of total taxes, percent of GDP-Govt. Do it any way you like that's logically defensible, compare it to the more developed and prosperous countries, and tell us what you learn.

That is, if you actually want to learn some instead pf parroting "the tax rate is 35%, too high, jobs-killing, the sky is falling, RUN RUN RUN!."
