I'm in

was gonna lay on the over, what you think?

Both teams have seen relatively high numbers come in this season, and whether it's been because of a lack of D, or offensive shootouts, four of the seven totals in their combined games would have gone over this current posted number.

These two also generally play games into the 50s, as five of the last seven have done so.

Both teams will be gunning to expose weaknesses found by superior teams already, especially in the secondary, where the passing lanes seem to be open when spread with multiple-receiver sets.

There will be a lot of that tonight, and this number will soar.

This will be the first trip for the Horned Frogs to deal with the altitude of Laramie, and it is an experience that they will not enjoy. Not that anyone else has recently, with Joe Glenn doing as good of a job with this program as any coach anywhere the past two years. After inheriting a team off of consecutive two-win seasons he had them in a bowl in his second campaign, and now not only is a bowl a motivation, but a conference championship is absolutely within reach. The Cowboy ATS surge is now at 10-0 dating back to last October, and they are on a 7-0 ATS run at home the past two seasons. Yet the adjustments will not be enough to take us away from this one, because in each of the past two weeks they have given up late scores that helps to keep them under the radar screen. They were on an 80-3 run for their first 7+ quarters at home this season before allowing UNLV to score two touchdowns in the final three minutes on Saturday, but all that coasting does is make them even fresher for this one.

Yes, one of these programs is off of a winning season capped by a bowl victory, while the other seemingly flounders far off the radar screen. But this line does not reflect the true state of affairs between these two, and we?re not sure that the favorite is the better team. We?re not kidding. Baylor showed far better talent when these two met last year, leading 26-16 in first downs and 450-257 in total offense. But Stevie Hicks scored for the Cyclones with 41 seconds left to win it 26-25 at Waco. The Bears did not get their physical advantages to the scoreboard because of an 0-4 turnover disparity, but you are much better than your opponent to be -4 in that category, and still leading in the final minute. As for this season, we can ask Army which team is better. The Bears dominated them worse than the 20-10 score would indicate, leading 20-3 until allowing a TD in the final minute, while Iowa State would have lost outright if not for a crucial late penalty. Baylor wins that common statistical comparison by nine first downs and 203 yards. The truth is that the Bears are showing real improvements under Guy Morris, and the best thing that could happen from a value standpoint was for them to come up short at Texas A&M in overtime last week ? they actually controlled the flow most of the way, running 90 plays to just 65 for the Aggies, and only allowing 15 first downs. And that was against an A&M team that was playing with a prime revenge motive. Just some real good stuff happening for the Bears so far, especially a defense that has held every lined opponent to less than 300 yards.
