Duke the superior team, but they went thru the motions late in the game. Too many missed FTs. Johnnies were hungrier, and Glover's late 3-ptr was a killer. Agree...what was Coach K thinking? Duke really could have used Dahntay Jones out there when it counted most.

I think Duke is so damn overrated. . . especially for the tournament. . . if they could play every game at home, they'd do quite well, but I just don't see a major run in the tourney for them this year. Gotta be able to play well on the road and come up with wins.

you guys are saying all of this when they were playing st. johns.

they didn't take it as a big game, quit crying because you lost

your money. if you were smart, you would make it back at

tourney time by betting on this team when they for one are taking

the games more seriously

storming:

i could be wrong, but i dont think mjalam means that a duke loss means they werent taking the game seriously. but (assuming im interpreting his posts correctly) i do see where hes coming from, because it was my logic as well.

some people dont understand how tough those late season out of conference games are. the dog covers in these games so many times. i never realized how willing people are to lay close to DD in road chalk without even blinking an eye.

duke really looked content to get out of MSG with a straight up win and thats about it. and that lack of intensity cost them

mjalam,

Maybe you weren't including me in your "you guys" comment but if you were, I didn't even bet this game so I didn't lose a single penny.

Funny how Duke obviously isn't taking any game seriously on the road this year (using your argument) as they have only won 4 out of 9 games away from Cameron. Why should we expect anything different come tourney time? If you put money on this team for the tournament outside of maybe the first round if they happen to blowout their scrub opponent, you are throwing your money away IMO.

But I guess we will see :D

gman2,

Your point makes sense since this was an out of conference game, but the point is this team is under 50% on the road this year. . . I think that's what storming was basically getting at. . . its not like this Duke team has played solid on the road and happened to play soft at the end of the St. John's game.

Duke always gets an easy draw in the tournament! Last year was supposed to be a cakewalk for them until Indiana stole a game late.

I guess Duke didn't take the past couple of late season meetings against St. John's seriously either. And why bother playing for a #1 seed in the East.

No doubt about it, Coach K was right all along. This Duke team is young and lacking big game experience. They get done in by poor decisionmaking and needless perimeter shots. Teams that excel at the inside game will them trouble.

Wow, I'm glad you know so much about how I did today. My Sunday so far is 8-1 with a push so I guess I won't have to work overtime to win my money back but in case things go south on me before tourney time, you can bet your ass I'll be on pins and needles waiting to lay everything I have on Duke. Gosh, I won't even care who they're pitted against, we all know they'll win just because they'll flip on that "we care again" switch:thefinger
