Last year in football 5 unit plays were 5-1. This year 1-0. College this year 13-11 plus 0.8 units.
5 Units South Carolina -1 The scheduling for this game is perfect as Tennessee is coming off playing its biggest rival last week. In the last 4 weeks Tennessee has played Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Alabama with Notre Dame up next. They have beaten the Gamecocks the last eleven times they have played them. Tennessee has started to play very conservative the last few weeks. They had problems with Ole Miss when they ran the option and think they will have problems this week.
Lou Holtz is unbelievable when he has two weeks to prepare for a team. Huge coaching edge with Holtz. The Gamecocks were down to their 4th string QB versus Kentucky but now they should be closer to full strength. When picking a 5 unit play emotional factors are the #1 source I use for handicapping it. Thus this will be my first 5 unit play of the season in college. Gamecocks for 5 units at -1.
4 units Florida State -11 Actually was afraid to take this game as it almost looks to easy and when that happens it is usually goes down. Just feel the speed of Florida State will be to much for the Terps. The Seminoles have dominated this series and with the lack of offense from Maryland I see the Seminoles winning 27-7.
3 units Michigan State +11 This years version of the Spartans much better. Also an extra week to prepare and the Wolverines coming off a big game versus Purdue.
Washington State +24.5 Just don't think that the Trojans are as good offensively as last years version. Also see the weather as being a factor. Washington State for 3 units.
3 units Oregon -20 Double revenger and Washingtons offense looked worse than Penn States! Oregon big!
3 units Army -2.5 Bobby Ross has the cadets playing well. East Carolina is a sorry bunch.
3 units Nebraska +2.5 Multiple problems for Missouri plus the fact they are not flying in until this morning.
2 unit Penn State Hold your nose taking this one after watching last week but the offense should be better with Robinson being able to practice all week. Expect Joe Pa to try a few trick plays today to ignite that offense. Not impressed with that Buckeye offense either.
2 unit play Illinois plus 12 Iowa is coming off that huge emotional win. Illinois has played Michigan and Purdue tough at home.
3 units Syracuse -3 Too much team speed for UConn expect the Orangemen to cover.
Beware everyone as this is the week of a lot of road favorites. This is where the books make their money. I think if you just played Big Ten dogs this weekend you would make money.
