Does anyone know the ATS record of teams playing on Thursday after an overtime game on Sunday? Probably a small sample.

Played an overtime against a division rival . . . a full 15 minute overtime . . . and now going on the road . . . with a backup QB . . . with another division rival as the opponent . . . and the opponent just lost SU when favored by over a touchdown . . . and the opponent is looking to atone after their best player and future Hall of Famer lost the game for them in excruciating fashion at the goal line in the closing seconds?

That's a lot of situational negatives in my handicapping catechism.

Although Detroit has been known to screw up a one car parade, so I guess there's always that.

GO PACK GO!

Detroit out gained Green Bay by 435 yards, and until Matt Flynn hit James Jones for a 56 yard gain in garbage time inside the two minute warning, it was going to be the largest yardage margin difference in a NFL game in over fifty years. As it was, the 435 yards was the second largest difference in 24 years.

Just before kickoff, I think it was Troy Aikman who commented that Matt Flynn knew the nuances of the Packers offense. :mj07::mj07::mj07::mj07:

This game had as much chance of being decided by nuances as the chances of Green Bay having less than a foot of snow this winter.

Unless Green Bay mustered up 60 minutes of courageous physical fortitude on a level that would have been a reach for any team under the circumstances, their hopes rode solely on the prospects of Detroit really not caring about ending a nine game losing skid at home on Thanksgiving while leading the division race. Well it looks like Detroit did care a little bit about this opportunity while smelling blood in the water.

Green Bay had been found badly wanting in much better situations to right their listing ship in recent weeks, against Philadelphia, against Minnesota, against the NY Giants, even against Chicago.

Now with 10 days off to absorb the embarrassment, a visit to Lambeau in December by Atlanta might actually be a good situation for the Packers, even if Aaron Rodgers is still on the sidelines . . . But I've never seen a game that was any easier to read go more exactly according to Hoyle than yesterday in Detroit.

Anyone who knows me knows I bleed Green and Gold, but any of my Packers acquaintances know I did my bleeding over this game on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and by Thursday I was resigned to moving on before the game was even played. Motherf**king nuances.
