I've been a lurker on this site for a long time. There are a lot of great handicappers that contribute to this site. What I want to know is some of your secrets? What do you look for in a game that is your big deciding factor on whether or not to pull the trigger? I would love to know the different capping strategies that lurk around here. :popcorn2

i look at a lot of stuff....

stats and matchups in college mostly...

matchups are the biggest thing for me in NCAA...often times, teams are just flat out better. its not like the nfl were they are all professionals. a lot of times you find clear mis-matches at the college level, you just need to look for them...the athletes from the big D1 confrences, to the smaller D1 confrences is unbelievable anymore, and really shows with the SEC's dominance as of late....

in the nfl, trends are usually more popular for people to use. its harder to cap matchups IMO because like stated above, they really are all professionals, and the term "any given sunday" really comes into play.

i dunno, those are just my opinions,....

as far as the good cappers on the site, i dunno what they look for.

if all else fails, sometimes i go to who has the prettier uniforms and lay a Dime on em :toast:

I'm no expert but Zamo and I discuss this often - emotion - especially in the NFL (I do not cap NCAA). Emotion plays a big part for me and Pitt was a good example this week. They play like shit at KC, come home to play a division opponent (Bengals) and are trying to keep pace with the Ravens. I knew they were going to play well in this game and liked them to cover ALOT. However, I also liked the over - but not as much as the side.

There are much better cappers on this site than me, but this is what I look at the most..... Are teams giving up, playing hard for new coach (Jax tonight perhaps), etc..... Alot of cappers may disagree and say they are professionals who do their job. Emotion is always the deciding fact for me and who wants, needs it more.....

I'm relatively new to this hobby/addiction but line movement is a helpful indicator. For example if 70% of the public in on a side or total and the the line is moving the opposite direction something's squirrely and you typically would want to go against the public or pass in this scenario.
