Been playing around with this for a couple of years and cannot still get a handle. The mentality of a non-conf game. Does the non-conf game weigh less, than a conf game, and even less than a division game.
Yet every game is important on the overall standings. If someone could help me out it would be appreciated.

In my opinion all games are just as important for the overall standings, but non conf games weigh lightly when it comes to tiebreakers for the playofss. Another thing about these games is the amount of travel involved, and sometimes you will see two teams playing each other for the first time in ten or twelve years. So familiarity factor is definitely not there IMO.
