I have read and followed a great deal of picks and information that has been, and is being, posted in these forums. I have been greatly impressed with the professionalism and knowledge exchanged. That being said for my very first postingfor my very first posting I have a question .....what criteria do you use when handicapping games from a personal standpoint...especially when there is a full slate of games. (Not looking for anyone's secrets...just advice and opinions (As I am trying to put one of my own together.) Thanks again and look forward to future posts.

Use box scores to do research. By doing this you can often find certain patterns. For example, in hockey you might find correlations between power play efficiency or shooting percentage and totals bets that the average bettor who merely looks at final scores may not find.

here's one

here's one

In college hoops....

Look for a team, preferrably a dog, that has played a stronger schedule, better teams, that is coming off an aweful game, playing a team that is coming off a strong performance, preferrably laying points, that has played a weaker schedule.

GL on your action

Look for patterns that show up for a league in it's whole or a conference. Finding things like Dallas always covers third weekof the season if a dog at home does little for you.

In the NFL playoffs if you had taken the home team last 10 years you would hve hit 60%. That to me means something more. It cover the whole NFL. Now if you find that a home team also has the better rushing record for the season. And stops the run better you get to 64%. If you find a home dog in the playoffs and it has a better rushing record you get 100%.
Hope this helps.
