Without giving away any trade secrets ("so sorry" to the boys at the Lodge), has anyone ever stumbled across a handicapping revelation that was so dynamic, so profound that you could call it a life changing experience?

The enormity of this discovery had to be so grand that handicapping became first and foremost over everything in your life?

I realize no one handicapping discovery could be the magic wand to handicap every single matchup in every sport, but one breakthrough (trend or angle or whatever you choose to call it), proven to be GUARANTEED over a period of years is beyond enormous.

Let's assume you have this angle in college basketball. In a regular season, you may see this angle 20 times. Each and every time this angle appears, the ATS outcome is decided by a very large margin. For as long as you've been monitoring this angle, the criteria surrounding the matchup and the outcome remain both consistent and astonishing.

So Cal
Money management is more important than any trend or so-called angle. Even if reliable, those super high percentage angles may pop up once or twice per season - nothing life changing about that. Money management is basically the bottom line difference between good handicappers and their eventual outcomes.

Bet single player sports where they are paid on performance not contract--fewer variables and usually give 100%
Travel the least traveled road.
No juice/reduced juice and perks will show you where books profits lie--and if they profit the punter usually doesn't.
One year does not a capper make--3 successful years good 5 or more better.
Only way you can lose picking 52% winners or more given 10% juice is varying amount wagered per bet.

"...and usually give 100%"

Dogs,

You were sharp to throw in that qualifier.

Wachovia Championship -

Maggert -110 v Triplett

Maggert leads Tripplett by six strokes entering second round. Tripplett shoots +4 today for a total +7 for the two day tourney.

Maggert who shoots -3 yesterday shoots +10 in second round for +7.

Push ?

NOT !!!

Maggert, disgusted with his poor play, leaves without signing his scorecard and is disqualified for a loss.

Maggert bettors chalk up a loss!

Ouch!

WORK!

Treat this like a business that it really is an put your homework in.

No shortcuts. No excuses. Eat, sleep and breathe it.

I have dreams about games the night befoer that show the it being played over and over in my head, at the end I can almost see the score of the final game up on the board in the stadium.
Twice these few weeks Ive called it dead on. Scores for both teams. Call it a superstition or whatever, but its been cash in the bank.

For the record: There is no such thing as a lock, at least in sports I can bet on.

True Buddy :)
There have been several angles in past that worked pretty well but once they went to print the books were quick to adjust. One that comes to mind was the flying from east coast to west coast on time zone lag in hoops especially. Was rumered the 1st to comeup with that revelation made some coins fora year or 2 till they opened their mouths.Best to keep any revelation under the table--get lots of books to spread modest wagers at each despite minor odd diff and fly under radar. You can steal a little forever but not a lot. That would be my take on matter.
