Hank was 8-5 overall last week, including a Miami play that he picked, but was not posted. His top 5 ESPN plays were 4-1. He lost the Mon nite game to fall to 10-3 for the year.

MIAMI-willing to take the 3

NYG/WASH-2 losers, pass

BALT-6wins last 6 outs vs. Cinn at home. Cinn 3rd straight road game and are banged up a bit. Likes Wright to Robinson & Ravens defense.

PHIL-likes game alot. Dallas has been shutout last 2 road games & also likes the revenge factor.

PITT-loves Pitt. Oakland has their bags packed.

DETROIT-likes alot. Has covered 3 straight at home.

GBAY- Chi lost last 17 ogf 19 at GB

MINN-Lean only as hank sees this as a tough game. A play against Sea. poor road record.

JAX-Hou .dinged up & Taylor should run wild. Revenge.

INDY-lean. Hank Doesn't like Tenn. because McNair just didn't look right on Mon nite. On the other side of the coin, Tenn has won 10 straight at home.

N O -Favorite play of the week. N O still has a chance, they are not turning the ball over and have beaten the Bucs the last 3. Duece is going for his 10th straight 100 yard game and the Bucs
are weak vs. the run. Tampa has chucked it in and have only 1 receiver left from the starting 5 from Sept.

SF-small lean

NYJ- Have covered 4 of last 5, Pennington playing terrific & they should win the game.

ATL- And the over. Outscored Car. 72-0 last year & Vick is back. Thinks Atl will score enough to win.

ST. LOUIS/CLEVE-pass on the game, although he has to come up with a pick for ESPN.

As far as Hank commenting that the Bengals are banged up.... Did he happen to mention who was supposed to be hurting? Cincy is probably the healthiest it has been since the start of the season. With the exception of Burris, there is no significant injuries on thios team..

Underachievers stumbling this time of year

By Hank Goldberg
NFL Insider

In-depth game breakdowns, simulations, fantasy projections
This is the time of the year to look for teams with high expectations and nowhere to go facing those that are on the rise and looking to lay a foundation for next season.

Oakland went from Super Bowl to Super Bust. Eleven of its players are injured and out for the year. The Raiders are in Pittsburgh -- a cold weather spot -- playing with no purpose. The Steelers have a faint glimmer of hope and their passing game has come to life. Bill Cowher has told his players that some are playing for their jobs.

Jacksonville is out of it, but has a young quarterback with a world of talent in Byron Leftwich, a defense that is improving, and a solid running game. Houston's nose tackle, Seth Payne, and defensive end, Gary Walker, are out, so Fred Taylor should rack up some yards.

Tampa Bay, the defending champ, is toast. Keenan McCardell is the lone surviving wide receiver, Ronde Barber the lone surviving corner, and the defensive line is not playing well inside. New Orleans' Deuce McAllister is seeking his 10th straight 100-yard game and the Saints have now taken three in a row from the Bucs.

Buffalo is four of its last 20 against AFC East competition -- winning over the Giants (another team that has chucked it in) last week. The Jets won't roll over. Chad Pennington led them over Tennessee Monday night. They have covered four of their last five at Buffalo. The Bills are 2-6-2 in their last 10 against the number. Drew Bledsoe has suffered a concussion in each of his last two starts. The Jets are playing hard and with hope.

Atlanta is playing hard and gets Michael Vick for Carolina, a team he beat by a combined 72-0 last year. Carolina is 1-6 as a favorite this year.

Early Picks: Philadelphia -5?; New Orleans -1?

Hanks ESPN picks are:
PHIL
PITT
NO
KC
ATL

Wolftaz........Hanks comments concerning the Bengals was probably in reference to the fact that while only 2 players are on the injury list this week, both are DB's & Wright to have an easier day for it. Hope that helps.

Burris for the Bengals practiced 3 times this week and Lewis said he looked very good. Hawkins had his knee drained and looks like a pretty good chance that he will be able to go today. If Burris plays it will be a huge lift for the Bengals.....
