has anybody seen that mudslide in california ?

it's unbelievable what is happening in california !

this mudslide, i think outside of santa barbara, covered 15 houses & last i heard killed 4 people.

i saw on the news yesterday where a man who was stranded on top of his car, was being rescued & lost his grip on the rope & fell back into the water. the currents of the flooding was so severe that this guy lost his pants, but was subsequently rescued.

i heard about a fireman who jumped into the water to save a young child.

i heard another story where a woman was holding her child & the strong currents took her child right from the her arms.....sad.

my thoughts are with the people who are being affected by these storms.

The sad thing is the mom was driving and ignored signs saying " Do not cross this area, flooded water, do not drive past here" .She proceeded to go through and got stuck and watched her kid get washed away. Now they are gonna charge her with manslaughter and child endangerement etc. I have never seen this much rain around here since I have been alive. Alot of crazy stuff and mudslides etc. But after all this just watching the pictures and videos of the Tsunami kind of puts things in persepctive and realize things could be alot worse. But in saying that it has been horrible out here and if anyone saw that mudslide it was pretty crazy.

vegas is not much better just not in the news. more then a few have died with snow 89 inches on mt.c and rain with homeless in storm drains but guess they don't count. That is what is wrong with vegas and this country , the homeless are people, rather you think so or not! Just the ca slide was in a upper community. Sorry for all but not 1 word about the 9 people gone in vegas . well yhe 13 year old kid at the ski resort caught in avalance took him off the lift he was 18 feet in the air, so you were looking at 20 + foot wave of snow. and the 8 homeless just a passing story, bullshit not to me and this is why I hate vegas and the west and will be gone with in the year. assholes with money. well i am far from hurting and care about all.

there are folks would kill to trade places w/you. there are homeless and there are survivors. lv has always had both. people migrating to become rich and leaving it at the table or racebook. If a person does not know how to live outdoors, they have little chance of survival, where ever they are. "assholes with money" is not regional. people will build cliffside over looking the ocean and at the base of mountains(la conchita) where the geology was known to be mudslide prone. you are right, though, lv gets old fast. 3 days at a time is enough for me. i miss the east coast as well. drive safely.
