Your statement would be correct if you said, 1 BCS NC in the past 3 years.
is that the "almighty AP" was saying that last years USC team was the best ever, better then any other team ever including the 95' Huskers, well that is until the AP ate some crow and USC couldnt even beat a UT team that was led by one person on offense, and had a below average defense.
FACT #1: USC was up double digits in the 4th quarter despite REFS blowing 2 calls that went AGAINST USC. #1 Bush lateral was not lateral and should have been 5 yard penalty. NCAA admitted Refs blew the call. Took away 3pts or 7pts from USC on that scoring drive. 2nd call was a TEXAS TD that resulted on pitch from YOUNG. Youngs knee was on ground, but refs did not see it or use replay. 7pts to Texas. Maybe Texas scores 7pts or 3pts on that drive. 2 HUGE calls the REFS admitted went AGAINST USC. Yet USC still was up double digits in 4th quarter.
FACT #2: USC was stopped 4th and inches in 1st half, USC was stopped 4th and 1 near end 4th quarter, and ML threw an INT on scoring drive that Texas safety made an amazing INT. 3 scoring drives stopped, 2 were game of inches.
Given all this, USC only lost by 3pts. HUGE KUDOS FOR USC! It just wasn't USC's night and Texas was a great football team and they capitalized on USC's mistakes and made plays when they needed too. Everyone knows USC wins that game 8/10 times. Just wasn't USC's night. Thats why you play the game.

Coaches Poll (BCS) and AP poll are the only polls everyone recognizes. Except maybe you and few others. Coaches poll and AP poll are the only 2 polls that matter at the "end" of the season. To win the coaches poll, you need to play in the BCS NC game and be victorious. To win the AP POLL, you need to be the best team in the country at the end of the year.

I don't like the BCS any more than you and I wish they could have played, but give it up.
I like the BCS. However, I would like a playoff system more. 3 years ago, LSU and OU made it to the BCS NC fair and square and I recognize LSU as the BCS National Champs. Kudos to LSU. USC won the AP NC fair and square. As a result we have a split national championship. We have had before and will have it again until there is a playoff system. This is nothing new. I am sorry if you do not have the intellect to understand the system. I tried my best to explain it to you. This is the system we have now. At the end of this season, you will have a BCS NC and an AP NC like we always do. Nothing has changed with coaches poll and AP poll. Well actually the only change from years past is the coaches poll is FORCED to vote the winner of the BCS NC game national champs. AP poll isn't forced to do anything. For example, if USC plays OSU in the BCS NC, and both teams look like $HIT, and say USC wins, AP poll can vote Michigan #1 if they look and appear to be the best team in the country based on their bowl win and their seasonal body of work. There is NOTHING you or I can do about it. If the AP poll has Michigan #2 and USC #3 and USC beats OSU, then AP poll might say Michigan is #1 and USC #2 and OSU #3. Coaches poll will be forced to vote the winner of USC/OSU #1.
