Or am I the only football savant in America who honestly believes if the Jets had at least an Andy Dalton level QB and an offensive coordinator who would extricate his head from his rectum on occasion, the Jets would have been the best team in the AFC for the alst 3 years?

Mark Sanchez is just awful, so inaccurate, prone to mind-boggling bad decisions, his receivers constantly have to bail him out....and the playcalling looks at times like its out of a high school playbook......how much longer can they stay put and roll out Schottenheimer and Sanchez every week,,,,,maybe after the Bengals beat them out for that 6th playoff spot this year, there will be some much needed changes in Gotham:shrug:

Where it is real F ing COLD
I would do anything I could to get rid of Sanchez! It's time for the jets to realize that he is not the guy fit them?

In general what is wrong with teams? Is there a denial or sonething? Too stubborn to give up on "their guy"

Look at the Vikes, that offensive line last year was a joke!! You would think they would get some new ones? Nope came into camp with same line, cut McKinney cause he was too fat which actually was a favor! Why would they bring back that line? If they thought there was talent there then the coaching staff should be shot

Fellas I agree, but it's sadly not that simple.

You say you don't want Sanchez...and trust me niether do I.

It's easy to say "oh, okay doofus, would you rather have Tyler Palko?" but that's not fair because Palko is a backup.

That said, look at some of the starters out there in the past few years...

Blaine Gabbert
Jason Cambell
Kevin Kolb
Anyone wearing a Browns uniform...

Never thought I'd be doing this...but theres way worse out there. Did the Bengals get lucky on Dalton? Who knows...for every Andy Dalton, there's 32 Ryan Leafs. The coaching is piss poor in the Apple as well.

BP-I think a lot of teams figure they have so much invested, that they want to focus on the upside and are afraid to turn the corner. Look at David Carr in Houston, perfect example...once Schaub comes in they have some semblance of an offense...it's kind of the same argument as to why people don't take shots on young or different coaches? They will look at a Josh McDaniel, and say we need experience....then get stuck with Norv Turner...I know it's kind of a mess down in TB, but Raheem Morris I think has them pointed in the right direction...whether he can get that shell of the championship team to do remains to be seen, but at least he was given a shot...Call me a homer, but if Belichick is coaching SD, they have 4 super bowls minimum. It's the kind of situation where there's better coaches not coaching right now (cohwer (who i think wants another crack), dungy (prob gonna stay retired, etc) so why not either go for the big name that has been relatively proven, or roll the dice...

Sanchez sucks, but I can't stand the Jets, so fuck'em! I hope they give Rex a raise so everyone can see that douche bag stroke out one day. :0002

VMANIA, while i'm certainly not defending Schottenheimer, it's possible the play-calling is that poor BECAUSE of sanchez. with him as your qb, you can't exactly open up the playbook.

why cant you give him a chance? ive watched every single snap this year for the jets and what i can say is that shottie blows! the guy has 2 favorite plays. unfortunately for the jets he runs them both on 3rd and 8+. one is a screen pass, which lately has worked out well, and the other is a quick slant to holmes. that quick slant is a 4-5 yard gain unless the WR breaks a tackle or two. why would you run that play on 3rd and 9? if it was once or twice hoping tone got free after the catch thats ok, but its been run way too many times. so much that it was pick 6'ed against the broncos 2 weeks ago. all they had to do was watch film for 20 minutes and any defense could have seen that play coming. let me say this, i dont think sanchez is that good, but i do think they need to let him air it out down the field a little more and thats all on shottie to make it happen. the games where sanchez was allowed to throw the ball more than 9 yards, he has made some big plays, but they dont really let him do it. you have 2 all pro's at WR, you really need to get them the ball down the field and let them make plays.. if we can take one good thing from mark as a QB, he does have 8 4th qtr comebacks as a pro, and has a few big road wins in the playoffs as well.
