despite my usual early bowl season success, i feel like i am on the wrong side of this one every year. so let's wager on another one!

byu (-2) 2 units
over (63) 1 unit. ok, i will admit i have a blind spot for the cougs. i have a lot of respect for the program. hopefully that is not what is making me think they are by far the better overall team here. the loss of finau certainly hurts. katoa is ok, but he's hardly explosive, averaging 4.1 yards/carry. i'm hoping we see a good amount of jackson mcchesney. in two games he is AVERAGING 11 yards/carry. ok, ok, a lot of that was against idaho st. but hawaii is 124th in the country, giving up 5.57 yards/carry. just on that one stat alone, i couldn't bet them tonight. it will be interesting to see if byu's depleted running back corps can take advantage of that horrible run defense. and when they throw it... wilson has actually been better on the road this year. his completion percentage is only slightly better, but at home he threw 4 TDs and 4 INTs. on the road, it's 7 TDs and 3 INTs. but the big difference... at home, he averaged 6.8 yards/att. on the road, 8.3 yards/att.

on the other side of the ball, byu's pass defense is not good. but they do get a good amount of INTs (15, which is 10th in the country). and oddly, 10 of those are by the linebackers. only 3 teams have thrown more INTs than hawaii.

i wish all of you a very merry christmas. please enjoy the time you get to spend with your family.
