For what it is worth, Japanese automakers other than Mitsubishi) have forced U.S. car manufacturers to VASTLY improve their products over the last 25 years...
I test drove a new mustang v-8 for grins and looked at the parts content on the invoice....lots of Mexico (great quality control, I hear) and the tranny was made in, are you sitting down? FRANCE.....and for what it is worth, my (US produced) Acura TL would blow that mustang away...
