I finally was able to register here at MJ's. I have been following this board for a couple of months, but every time I went to register, it said they were not accepting new registrations at this time. Went to try tonight and voila.
I have gained a great deal of insight, reading posts on this board, as well as picked up a few good winners here and there. For that, I thank you all.
There is a true sense of 'family' here, bringing together cappers from accross the country who really seem to care about the success of their 'brothers'. This was most recently evidenced strongly by all the posts regarding the kid who blew his wad on LA last week. I hope that I will be able to add to the family at least a fraction of the value I have already received.
Here were my plays for today: (most already started and a few are looking like losers as I post this - however felt it appropriate to see how I do in the spotlight on my virgin night)
KC +35 1* = L
Atl U 7-20 2*
Fla +50 2*
Mon +50 1*
Tor -20 1*
Det +30 2*
Min +30 2*
Phi O9-E 2*
Min O 9- 2*
Bos -38 2*
Sea O 8- 2*
May add SF-10 (hotter team, hotter pitcher - blind squirrel found acorn last night)
Will add Oak +10 - (Been all over Sea like most, hitting on r/l as well, however every streak eventually corrects itself, and Sea is starting to show chinks in their armor. Oak should be fired up to get this game after last night's slipped away and Garcia has been hit by Oak in past. These factor put play into my list of value contrarian plays since public is still all over Sea. Definately think OAK is live dog here, just waiting a little longer to see how early plays go before deciding unit)
On the contrarian note, I was wondering what others here thoughts are on the subject. My recollection of past seasons is that prior to AS break, the 'public' side tends to hit more regularly and after AS break, the opposite is true. I do not have any stats to back this up though, just my personal recollections. This applies primarily to plays were 70% of public favors one side. I use bigguy.com's consensus to gauge this. Perhaps I should post a seperate thread regarding this.
Anyways, thanks again and I am happy to be aboard.
