Is this just for the 500 or are you locked into these guys all season.
You need to see who makes the race on Thursday for a sleeper.
Clearly Bill Elliot for 300,000 is a buy for the 500 as he is cheap which allows you to get higher guys and he was fastest in both practices. Big question on him is will he hold up for 500 miles.
Vickers for 375,000 is a good price as well to allow for as many upper scale drivers.
Mcmurray is a good buy and Kahne finds the top 10 at Daytona(last 4 races here 3 7th place and a 9th).
I think it is obvious you need 2 of these 3 at Daytona(Jr,JJ,and/or Kyle B).

If Awesome Bill is smart then he will fall to the back and play it safe entire race knowing he has a fast car and you can go for it in the last 30 laps or so.
Going from last to first is not very hard at Daytona.
Good car and right lines can get you there in less than 10 laps.
His age might be an issue if he races all day in the pack.

Ok ignore Awesome Bill then.
You gotta take Logano being in the #20.
I think Mcmurray is still a solid buy.
Two other cheap guys to look at are Amirola Sorenson.

This is the 8 I came up with:
JJ
Edwards
Kyle Busch
Kenseth
Harvick
Mcmurray
Amirola
Logano
=9,955,000

I think it is Rousch-Fenway season this year.
Edwards was a rock.
Everyone says Mcmurray is gonna be strong and Kenseth will be back in form.
I tend to agree. Amirola is getting a solid team to work with that he already knows and Logano climbing in Stewarts car with Zippi as a crew chief is a steal.

checkered hangs outside the house of each weeks winner.

nothing like going next door and rooting for a neighbors driver:mj07: to DNF.

Everyone is saying Bobby Labonte is going to be a chase contender this year. Not sure he will see victory lane, but Kenseth never saw it last year and made it. Just stay out of trouble and hope your cars hold up .
He has a 8-15 running type car this season from all talks. I agree based on what he has been doing in practices and races(although they are plate).

any chance of Aric Almirola losing the ride as the season goes on..

no subs in the league so have to be sure each driver is locked in for the year..

like this team w/2 short money drivers and heavy loaded at the top..

any of you guys have any thoughts please chime in..

gotta turn in my team before they drop the green.

some of the findings today..

Updated Feb. 5)
Just the facts: On Nov. 12, Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Chip Ganassi Racing announced they were joining forces to form Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing. Retained from DEI will be Martin Truex Jr. (1), who signed an extension taking him through 2009 earlier in the 2008 season, and Aric Almirola, who will take over the 8 car after sharing the ride with Mark Martin over the last year and a half

from nascar.com

Aric Almirola will not run the full 2009 Sprint Cup season unless funding is secured, scenedaily.com reports.

Impact:
Team owner Chip Ganassi made this ominous statement on Friday at Daytona. The team has no plans of running Almirola unsponsored. The young driver is going to run the first five races of the season, but not many more thereafter.

so no us army car?

J Johnson 2,000,000

C Edwards 1,935,000

J GORDON 1,475,000

Jeff Burton 1,305,000

K Harvick 1,275,000

D Ragan 1,145,000

B Vickers 375,000

J Logano 350,000

thanks for all the help..

Jeff has been on my team for the last 6 years..

95'-99' he made me a lotta serious coin.

I suspect he will continue to slip a little..but he set the bar so high it had to happen at some stage of his career.

81 wins....4 more before he retires would be cool.

hope we all make some racing $$$ this year.

Good Luck.
Don't cry when Kenseth and Mcmurray have better seasons than Burton and Ragan.
Vickers is a great play.Logano may have issues on plate tracks but should have good enough finishes this year.
I think Gordon will be better this year and get a couple wins.
