if you guys could get a basket worth of items of interest to you, what would be in it? or the theme of it?

seriously though, nothing too extravagent--jus trying to tap into the somewhat creative thinkers here on the board. lets jus leave the porn basket out of this survey. thanks in advance.

Things that are easy to get for charity purposes....

Tickets to ball games - especially pre-season football games.

Passes to golf courses

Restaurant gift cards

Whores

Movie passes from the local theater

Amusement park passes

Spa and Salon gift cards

Last April I attended a charity silent auction and bid on Titan's tickets for a pre-season game and a a ticket to the first game. I didn't win, but my bid was up to $250.

The Joker is right, although I don't know enough about your organization. Assuming you are in the Boston area? If you are a sanctioned organization, affiliated with the proper organizations, you should be able to secure things like he mentioned, which can bring a really good bidding war. Consider collectible items like signed memorabilia, tickets are great, maybe even player participation days - all can be provided by the teams and franchises - look to colleges for jerseys, local restaurants and golf courses, spas, beauty parlors, garages (tune up certs and oil changes), movie tix, (sorry, I was typing and had not read what else Joker wrote), grocery store certificates, clothiers, music cards, shopping sprees - all kinds of places will donate to get their name out there and associated with a great cause like yours. Just be sure to properly promote them and make them look like champs.

And many times you can go into businesses like hardware stores, florists, furniture stores, specialty shops, and they will just give you a unique item and write that off - those can be pretty cool things, and eye catching when you display everything at the silent auction.

Also, look to freelance providers like designers, computer techs, landscapers, etc...they will do it for the promotion, too.

Sporting type items always go over well. Reason when tied into kids. They by themself help push items by bugging there parents to buy items for them. You need a coupel bigger hot item to draw the people. And register your group.
