It looks like the Australians are almost as clueless as our people electing someone like this. Another Bush lap dog. Why they would want Obama when right now Al Quida has the single biggest Al Quida recruiter by far in the history of recruitment is a mystery to me. Why a leader of a country would even suggest something like this is mind boggling.

Australian Leader: Al-Qaida Wants Obama

Australian Prime Minister John Howard in his Sydney offices ...
SYDNEY, Australia - Australia's conservative prime minister slammed Barack Obama on Sunday over his opposition to the Iraq war, a day after the first-term U.S. senator announced his intention to run for the White House in 2008.

Obama said Saturday at his campaign kickoff in Springfield, Ill., that one of the country's first priorities should be ending the war in Iraq. He has also introduced a bill in the Senate to prevent President Bush from increasing American troop levels in Iraq and to remove U.S. combat forces from the country by March 31, 2008.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard, a staunch Bush ally who has sent troops to Iraq and faces his own re-election bid later this year, said Obama's proposals would spell disaster for the Middle East.

"I think that will just encourage those who want to completely destabilize and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and a victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for an Obama victory," Howard said on Nine Network television.

"If I were running al-Qaida in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and be praying as many times as possible for a victory, not only for Obama but also for the Democrats."

Howard has defied widespread domestic opposition to the war, keeping about 1,400 Australian troops in and around Iraq, mostly in non-combat roles. He is seeking a fifth term later this year, and recent polls suggest voters are increasingly unhappy about his refusal to set a deadline for withdrawing Australian troops from the Middle East.

"You either rat on the ally or you stay with the ally," he said. "If it's all right for us to go, it's all right for the Americans and the British to go, and if everybody goes, Iraq will descend into total civil war and there'll be a lot of bloodshed."

Big talker with 1100 troops left out of his 3000 sent. Big deal. Now on other side of that coin. The Aussies are always first to help. Even faster then England. And are dam great folks. And great beer drinkers. But here he can stay out of our business.

I think his mistake was he didn't include Edwards-Hilliary--and the rest of the code pink militia.

Hmm Seems everyone forgot UBL coming out for Kerry---

Let me put it as simple as I can--do you think they preffered it under last Dem pres when they ran around world unabated--attacked at will with no reprecussion--

or do you think they like it better in this admin with numerous Arab countries joining fight--

here is list of several hundred that could answer your question if alive--and note the date of their crime and date they were killed/caught and tell me who has waged the only war on terror.

would take about four pages to list so will supply link--

http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/terroristscorecard/

P.S. we now have simultaneous threads of liberals dissing now 2 of our allies isreal and Aussies--
--and they still want to argue when I point out parrallels the liberal/terrorist agenda's:shrug:

He reads them, he just ignores them and goes on about his business. I'm used to it and I don't blame him.

He'd either have to condemn Reagan (the horror!) or admit that Reagan did the same thing that Bubba did in Somolia and that he agrees with it. Two untenable choices for Wayne.

Then he'd have to have an opinion on Reagan, just a few years later, selling arms to the same country who blew up 244 of our marines and snatched up American hostages for a year and a half.

Just a little consistency would be nice, but certainly not expected.

Some of my Australian friends refer to Howard as "Bush lite". Not quite as psychotic as our guy but non the less, psychotic. In either case, they leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Eddie,
I know this sounds like im making this up but this idiot with no agenda im sure has a son who worked for the Bush/Cheney Campaign. Now isnt that special? Love Obama's response to him. I already like him more than Kerry. Instead of getting swift boated for three weeks without a response, Obama bitch slaps Bush lite with a nice comeback. He says to this lap dog "why not gin up another 20 thousand aussie" I think you won't hear much from him anymore.
Unlike Kerry this shows me Obama will fight for me. As with Kerry he wouldn't even fight for himself so why would he fight for me?
