I might as well "throw" this out for you guys....

knowing that, sure, the players should be putting in 110% into the all star game (riiiiiiight)....and KNOWING that the game was gonna be ended after the 11th inning:

should Freddie Garcia have tried to maybe throw a "gopher" to one of the batters to end the game the way the fans wanted...???

I know, this is gonna open up a can of worms...but i'm not saying Freddie (don't wanna put him in thuis spot....) should have thrown the game, but maybe throw an "easy" pitch to one of the three batters in the 11th...? just to appease the fans....?

flame war here i come...!!!

;)

Speaking as a fan, and not as someone who bet either side of the game (i didn't anyway) i would not have wanted some manufactured ending to the game in an attempt to appease the fans. I, like many, wanted a real ending, and i would actually prefer a tie to "hey Freddy, throw them the not so fast ball".

Anyway, just my opinoin. I just would hate to see anything fake, that would make me feel worse.

No way

No way

Personally, I would much rather have a tie than to manufacture an ending. (That seems to happen often enough...for you conspiracy fans). As someone already said, the fans got 11 good innings of ball and more importantly... got to enjoy the introduction of the "old" guys, which was more interesting to me than the game. As one who grew up watching Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial and the rest, that part of the All Star game was the best part anyway.

Those guys played the game for the love of it, not the same as most of today's players...
Just my 2 cents.
