Heroin & Opium trade kept in check under the Taliban is now a $2.3 Billion business under our newly formed democracy in Afghanistan. Guess who they sell it to.

Al Capone used to run the suburb of Cicero with an iron fist. Since he and his crew have been gone, the town has been a total pile of dung. Corruption, wide open prostitution, violent gang activity, and drugs ran the dump for decades until recently. I guess they should have brought ol' Al back and his system of justice to keep the original staus quo of civility.

Thanks for the post.

Make sure you guys blame Bush for Afghanistans centurys-old stranglehold on the world's opium market. I'm sure that was on the top of his things-to-do list when he took office.

Not sure of amount. But all majior networks even fox reported it's over 2 billion. And the war loards are back in charge of it. You can bet it's true if fox admits it. Because anything that makes the Bush look bad they dont like saying it. They also said only half of the coutry will take part in this election. A election most war loards dont plan on paying much attention to. Again reports were this week on all majior networks. Yes even fox. Hey we will let them grow and sell us all the drugs they want if they stay on our side. Then we will put those here that sell or use it in jail. But when we had the chance to shut it down we didn't. That falls on Bush. He I guess is in charge.

My god what don't you liberals blame him for lol?

There was little if any trafficing in Heroin pre 9/11.
87 billion dollars, 1030 dead, 6400 maimed and wounded 48 suicides and a 6'5" 130 pound diabetic pulling a dialysis machine across the desert.
It is your inalienable right as an American to be a moron and many of you wear that badge.
The 2.3 figre is all over the web, tv, radio, news, etc. The pathetic here is, some of you believe that being stupid is the American way. I hope not. From top to bottom, they are admitting they duped you, stuck it t you and you are begging for more. If there is a god, GW will be elected, get rid of all the scumbags, except for a few. Cheny can not last another 4 years, he has 4 heart atacks under his belt. Hillary '08 you heard it here. Rent a copy of "Red Dawn" 1984

It is most amazing as I watched the news with large lines (including women) voting in Afgan for 1st time--some were smiling and some had tears in their eyes. Check out picture in this article
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=3&u=/ap/20041010/ap_on_re_as/afghan_election

and what do the liberals high-light "What about the drug trade??" pesimism at its best---Do you really expect the coalition to try and tackle 2 fronts (taliban AND drug lords at one time. Does it not make common sense to get one under contol then work on the other????

I truley expect the New York Times to report on situation the same as those above---Personally I would think it would be hard to make a negative on an event of historic proportion---but leave it to the left to try to try to make an effort.

I believe breaking the 'Axis of Evil' was at the top of his list.
Half the people here say the reason we're in Iraq is because Saddam and the gang were 'funding terrorists'.
Another bogus reason.

Hey, everyone see Blair admit to Parliament that they got it wrong? There is no wmd. They got it wrong.
Why can't Georgy-boy do the right thing rather than digging and digging, and looking sillier and sillier.

We back Afagn. Thats WE the USA. Yes we went there and we should have. Does that mean we are to look the other way as they supply drugs. And we dont know how much of the money goes to support terror. Are we not fighting terror. Come on guys we cant keep talking out both sides of our mouths in DC.
