Got this from the Sharks website...Looks like Kiprusoff again tonight.

Kipper Looks For 2 In A Row

A strong 20 save performance by Sharks goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff earned San Jose a 2-1 victory against Nashville Friday night. The win was Kiprusoff first of the year and as well as the Sharks first road victory, an important fact with the next five games also on road ice.

It also keeps the Sharks from trying to rush Evgeni Nabokov back into the lineup. With that in mind, Miikka Kiprusoff was the first netminder off the ice in Columbus at the morning skate while Marc Denis took the honors for the host Blue Jackets.

Kiprusoff will look for a second consecutive victory Friday against the team that he recorded his final win of the 2001-02 campaign against.

TOSKALA OFFICIALLY RETURNS TO CLEVELAND
Everyone knew that Vesa Toskala was reporting to Cleveland, but now that Nabokov's contract is officially signed, the reassignment is complete.

This was yesterday's artilce from the Sharks....

KIPPER PREPARES FOR NASHVILLE

With Evgeni Nabokov not hitting the ice until Tuesday afternoon, Sharks Head Coach Darryl Sutter looks to be playing Miikka Kiprusoff against Nashville, as the Finnish netminder was the first Sharks goaltender off the ice at today's morning skate. Tomas Vokoun skated off first for the Predators and is the likely opponent in the opposite crease.

Normally when players sign after training camps there is a worry of injury when they take the ice. An injury to Steve Shields in this manner was how Nabokov earned the starter's role in the first place. It is no a major concern in this situation.

"He is in great shape," said Sharks Head Coach Darryl Sutter. "He just needs to get in game shape."

It is still not known when Nabokov will start his first game, but with Columbus up tomorrow night in a back-to-back situation, it could be sooner rather than later.

forgot where I read it but SJ coach isn't going to rush Nabokov back for fear of injury. he said something like, we're not going to rush the guy after giving him such a large contract and risk him getting a groin injury or something.

also said that it's unlikely he'll play in their next game on sunday as well.
