I get a nice "free" SS check, every month, for the rest of my life.
I get nearly free medical care whenever I need it for the rest of my life.
I get a substantial discount on my property taxes for the rest of my life.
I get a nearly free lifetime hunting and fishing license.
I get discounts of 5-15% on most of the retail food and other goods I buy.
I get free police and fire protection.
In the past I have gotten free public schooling, 12 years worth for myself and children.
I get free protection by the US military.
I get free roads to drive on.
I get free safety inspections of the food I eat, free certification of the drugs I use. Free monitoring of the water I drink and the air I breathe. Free safety regulation of the cars I drive the appliances I use and the aircraft I fly.
and on and on....
Of course sometime in the past I paid some taxes so other people could get some free stuff too.
And so does everyone else.
I like the system, I pay in and I take out. Depending on how long I live, and what my needs are, I may take out more than I paid in, or I may take out less than I paid in. It's like uncancellable insurance without the insurance company pocketing part of my payments as profit.
Those getting unemployment checks paid in when they were employed. If they were never employed, they get no checks.
If they paid into Social Security for at least ten years, , they get to take out. Otherwise, no.
Those getting "food stamps" mostly paid in in the past, and those who have to work for shit wages are still paying in. The maximum benefit for a single person is $194/month. How far can YOU get on $194?
Think about that. The kid who is 17 years old and flipping burgers for $7.50 is paying in so that you can get some government paid help if/when you need it. The roofer who works a hard, hot, nasty job for 9 bucks an hour is paying in so YOU can get help if and when you need it.
I like the system. We all pay in when we are able, and we all take out when we need to.
Call it by whatever name you like. "Fair Play" "A square deal" "Civilization" "Following the example of Jesus" "Socialism."
If you really, REALLY object to any government help for poor, old and disabled people, then pack your ass up and move to some shithole like Somalia. You can keep everything you're able to earn or steal, so long as you're the baddest dude around and sleep with an AK47. You'll pay nothing to the government, and you'll receive nothing from the government. Just what you want, right? The USA is a mostly civilized country. You don't like that, so get out.
Duff, most everything you said here is smoke and mirrors and you know it. You don't get a "free" SS check every month. I'm fairly confident you've worked your entire life and retired. So if that's the case, you've EARNED that check every month (ya old fucker!)
That "free" healthcare you mentioned is likely Medicare or something of the like. Old fuckers should get this and I don't have a problem with it.
I don't know what "discount" old fuckers get on property taxes. I'm not an old fucker yet and certainly don't get it.
I know in PA the old fuckers do get a one time "lifetime" hunting license. Again, I have no issues with that. You hunt??? I'd have to see harvest pics or I'm totally calling bullshit on that one.

Your "free" police and fire protection is horseshit. YOU may not be shelling out the taxes to pay the wages of police and fireman. But rest assured someone is! Apparently you think the weekly paychecks these guys draw for their services come from the money tree in the sky?
Free schooling? I guess the public schools also draw money from the money tree to pay the bills and salaries?
Free roads? You did know that when you buy gas a portion of the tax goes towards this right? (at least here in PA PennDot is mostly funded by this)
What I DO have a problem with is the freeloading fucks that are perfectly capable of working and choose not to. You can spin this any way you choose to. There are many, MANY more on this gravy train that need to be. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing some mid 20s chick, dressed to the nines, come in a convenience store and tote a basket full of shit to the counter and pay with an access card. I wrote this story a while back so I'm not going to go into detail again. ANYONE getting government assistance (whether they need it or not) shouldn't have CONVENIENCE. I guarantee you that I could survive (eat) on $194 a month if I had to. Easily could buy enough groceries for a month with that much money. That same chick I referenced bought a carton of $70 Marlboro's with a $100 bill too after the welfare transaction. Do you really think someone that NEEDS food stamps should have fucking $100 bills in their wallets to buy cigarettes?? Are you shitting me??
Back to the fat lazy fucks at WalMart. Doesn't it piss anyone off when you see a car pull in a handicapped parking spot, hang their placard on the rear view mirror, get out of the car and WALK in the fucking store without even a limp? Jesus fucking christ I see this about every time I go to the store!! Why? Why in the fuck is shit like this allowed? What do people do? Apply for the "catered" shit and get it? Doesn't stuff like this bother you? I would bet good money that HALF the people in this country getting some sort of "free" shit don't even NEED it. They are just too damn lazy to EARN it on their own.
I don't understand it. I can't stand people who feel entitled for anything they don't deserve and am completely baffled by people who support it. I'm not necessarily blaming the democrats for all of this but it sure seems like its the party that supports it. It doesn't matter who holds all the cards in government. They are all a bunch of crooked fucks IMO.
