A little late getting this up this week, but here goes... This Week's Hilton Contest Consensus results!

The players in this contest are now staying away from favorites BIG TIME. Only one favorite got more selections than their opponent this week (Kansas City -9?), and even that was only by a 31-29 count.

Here's this week's Consensus:

Most picked teams:
1. Tampa Bay +1? ... 70
2. Minnesota +3? ... 65
3. San Diego +3 ... 64
4. Buffalo +2? ... 61
5. NY Jets +6? ... 58

Interesting the early money went heavily against a couple of these (ON New Orleans and Miami). Public huge on Atlanta this week and this contest goes against that.

Last week the Top 5 picks went 3-2 ATS.

Most lopsided games:
1. Seattle +9? ... 71.6% (48-19)
2. Cincinnati +2? ... 71.3% (57-23)
3. NY Jets +6? ... 69.9% (58-25)
4. Dallas Pick ... 69.1% (47-21) - Won
5. Houston +11? ... 67.9% (36-17)

Last week this category went 2-3 ATS, second straight week below .500 . This is the most-different I have seen this list from the one above it...usually 3-4 of the teams are the same. Why's it different now? I dunno! :look: People are just staying away from their opponents in droves.

Least picked teams:
1. Indianapolis -11? ... 17
2. San Francisco -9? ... 19
3. Washington Pick ... 21 - Won (if you went with the consensus and went against this)
4. NY Giants -3 ... 22
5. Baltimore -2? ... 23

Those are some LOW numbers...17, 19 etc. People just don't want to lay points with anybody!

:hail The Leader:
The guy that took over the lead last week went 3-2 and retained the lead, but 2nd place is now just a game back. With 41 points, #1 is on:
Detroit (L), Buffalo, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Seattle.

Chasing him, #2 is on:
Dallas (W), Green Bay, Cincinnati, San Diego, Indianapolis.

:nutkick The Loser:
Man this guy sucks. I mean he REALLY sucks!! 1-4 last week. 17 points thru 12 weeks, so he's not even averaging 1? right out of 5 each week. Now behind 2nd-last place by SIX points. Sheesh. Well keeeeeep on suckin'!!! As soon as I start fading this guy he'll probably get red-hot. hmh Anyways, this week he likes:
Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Atlanta, NY Giants, New Orleans.

Well, if you ever needed any more reason to take the Vikings this week, this might be it. #1 is on Minny, #281 is on Atlanta, and the Dirty Birds are the big public play this week to boot.

Not gonna break down the mini-consensci (consensusseses??) among the Top 5 and Bottom 5 players this week, because it's just too time-consuming and eye-straining.

GLuck.

Thanks for doing this Greg... great stuff.

BTW, these guys just can't get e-freakin-nuff of the Bungals:shrug: every week theyre a top pick. In fact, I bet if you tallied up all the weeks (no, I don't really expect anyone to do that) you would find the Bungals are among the top 2 or three most picked teams this year ... if not No. 1.

Strange.

Hey Jeff,

It's probably the old adage/rule whatever ya wanna call it... teams that start 0-4 SU usually have a winning ATS record the rest of the way. Cinci fits that, so maybe that's why, that's all I can figure.

Three teams started off 0-4 this year. Cinci is 3-8 ATS now (3-4 ATS since starting 0-4 SU), StL is also 3-8 (and also 3-4 ATS since), and Minnesota is 5-6 ATS (4-3 ATS since). So it hasn't worked this year.

Heehee, nice signature man. I swear I wish I had some friends who knew that the first 6 or 8 weeks of the season. Not hust on the Bengals, but the few times theyve covered Ive been against those bastards. So, for me, it is more like friends don't let friends bet on Bengals games.:D

:D Thanks.

Actually the Bengals haven't screwed me much worse than any other team this year. It just sounded good when I thought it up. The team that has really done it to me this year is Arizona. Can't bet on 'em, can't bet against 'em...get totally screwed either way. I don't want to have anything to do with them anymore!!!

Friends don't let friends bet on the Cardinals...hmmm...just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I know what you mean about the Cards. They have done the same to me. Public could be 99% on them and they still wouldn't cover.

Is there some kind of prize awarded to the last place finisher in the Hilton contest?
