"the bunker"
a word to the wise....although we had 2 dogs cover yesterday(no complaints here...had the dogs).....and one win outright, the refs were not kind to the roadies.....

panthers...13 penalties for 92 yds.....some big drive stopping penalties in there....but,the panthers were much the better team....the rams were bogus....

rams...5 penalties for 33 yards....
.....................................................................................

tennessee...9 penalties for 55 yards....a couple game changing majors in tennessee`s last drive....the holding call was astounding as the refs hadn`t called a major all day and to call it at that point in the game,on a questionable hold, was shaky at best....and maybe helped decide the game...

pats...3 penalties for 14 yards...

collectively the roadies garnered 22 penalties for 147 yds....homies got 8 penalties for 47 yds......

what do i take from this?.....not that anything`s fixed....absolutely not....

my take is that the refs....mostly older guys, still don`t know how to be objective in their decisions in this type of environment....

pats and rams fans don`t jump me ...please....i`m not saying anything against these clubs(well, maybe that the rams are bogus...as i stated way before this game :D )........

what i`m saying is that these refs can`t handle this kind of pressure and be objective.....

i understand that the teams play all year to garner home field advantage.....

but, that shouldn`t extend to getting unfair benefit from the referees....

most of these guys have been around for years....they need to be able to be objective...that is their job.....they need to do it more effectively and not let "extenal stimuli" affect their decision making(external stimuli:eek::D ).......

let`s keep an eye on how it goes today....

just an observation....

I'm probably going to get "jumped on" for saying this BUT I believe the officials are objective for the most part. I believe thier mistakes aren't because they are rooting for one side but because they truly made a mistake. I've never officiated a football game but I'm guessing it's not that easy. Initially, the refs do not have the camera angles and slow motion that we see. The game is very fast and I truly believe they do the best that they can. I've seen bad calls, and I've seen alot of bad calls that have lost me money but for the most I believe that the calls are objective. This is just my two cents.

Iowa, United States
intersting post, Kevin Donnally almost blew the game for Carolina, fortunate to get that FG after a 1st and 35, don't think I've ever seen a 1st and 35.
