from reds website:
A homecoming victory would sit just fine with Aaron Harang.
Harang, a native and resident of San Diego who attended Patrick Henry High School and San Diego State University, will be making his second career appearance in his hometown when he faces the Padres on Saturday.
His first outing at PETCO Park last May saw the right-hander give up three runs on five hits over six innings. But Harang is more concerned with his last outing overall, in which he gave up four runs on seven hits over six innings to the Dodgers on Monday.
Harang simply wasn't sharp in that outing at Chavez Ravine, and he'd like to get back to the fine form he displayed in his first two starts after the All-Star break. Perhaps a start in front of some friends and family will allow him to do so.
Pitching matchup:
CIN: RHP Aaron Harang
? 6-9, 3.97 ERA in 2005
? 0-0, 1.13 ERA vs. SD in 2005
SD: RHP Pedro Astacio
? 0-1, 4.50 ERA in 2005
? Has not faced CIN in 2005
Player to watch
Adam Dunn. PETCO Park's deep dimensions obviously don't bother the Reds' left fielder on Friday. He cranked out two monster shots in the series opener, raising his season home run total to 30.
Quotable
"Just looking at that guy makes me laugh. I don't know why. I feel like I've played with him forever. It's weird." -- Dunn, on facing former teammate, and current Padres third baseman, Joe Randa
