Lines up now but no Q matchups from Intertops. They informed me that because of the time of qualifying they weren't going to bother with qualifying matchups for this race .

On the bright side the hold for each is less than 140% which is by far and away the best they've had all season for cart.

Surfer's Paradise is a track where you MUST be up front to win. Da Matta has owned qualifying on road tracks this year so my guess is he will have the pole. 2 to 1 is hardly great odds but I have a hunch they will go down after qualifying so I'm betting it now. For a longshot I'm looking at Tagliani.

I agree with Tagliani, his fiance is from Australia and he is ready to roll!!! About the Qualifying... they emailed me to tell me ...
"Our Bet Managers have advised as per management decision we will not be offering odds on the Cart qualifying." As DJV wrote, they don't like me anymore....
:p :(

I decided to take a shot on Michael Andretti at 50/1 and Dario Franchitti at 15/1.

With all the rain this race could go to an upsetter and Andretti has always done well in the rain.

They said none of the injuries is life threatening. Do these teams have back up cars?? If not then I guess it is like F1 and the Vasser/Tagliani matchup would be no action since they both got knocked out on the same lap. Also since they said they will have a full restart technically neither would have started the race.

Interesting.

More importantly though hopefully the drivers are ok.

How in the world do they justify driving in such weather? Hydroplaning like that looked just terrible.

the crew chiefs of the drivers that pitted on lap 36 need a brain transplant.

Recap:0-3

What a disgrace!!!! To call this event a RACE is totally absurd! I've spend 3:35 hours to watch the most boring event of the season and got f*** by the officals at the end! We ended 0-3 but should have been 2-1  ... I can understand to have lose the bet on Dixon (he was leading Franchitti easily) when he had electronics problems, it's part of the game but when the officials are the reason you lose your two others you get mad... Unbelievable! It was a real joke ending! For those of you who haven't seen it, let me recap you what happened...

The track was wet at the beginning of the race and at the start, here comes the big crash! Waited one hour + to start all over again and then it was on the yellow flag that the drivers went on. Officials confirmed the race will be a 50 laps instead of the 70 but to be official you need to drive 50% +1 lap of the regular race so it means 36 laps and the race is official. Not too complicated hun? But here's the weird part and the one that drives me crazy this morning.... After the second start(on the yellow) drivers went on the green flag for few laps and then rain started to pour on the track. It was so awful that the pacecar (lap 10) arrivered and stay there til the end!!!!! How can you call it a race when you follow one after other without overtaking? When the pace car arrivered some teams (6 drivers) went to a strategy that was brillant, pit on lap 36 or 37 (because of the rule that you can't driver longer than 20 lap before being force to pit) so they did their first pit stop on lap 16. Darkness was coming, rain was pouring so as usual, the race will be over when the 36 laps would come. (Cart officials have always made it like this in the past when it is impossible to respect the numbers of laps because of the conditions) Andretti and Fittipaldi were the ones who were suppose to win that race. An offical even confirm (on lap 26) that they wanted to see drivers to reach lap 36 to make it official and they were aware that some teams had the pit strategy in mind for their drivers (2 on lap 36 and four on lap 37). Our guys were in this strategy. At lap 36, it was now real dark on the track, everybody were asking "where's the f** flag!!!" and then the officials said "Let's make some few laps to end it on lap 40!!!! THEY DIDN'T RESPECT THEIR WORDS AND THEY VOLONTARY CHOOSE THE WINNER BYT THIS DECISION!!!! And here comes DOMINGUEZ, the worst driver of the series and we give him the win on a silver plate....:nono: (he must have piss in his pants to have laugh so much about that one!) Our guys HAD to pit on lap 36 and 37 because of the rule and that is why i was so upset! Officials decided the end of that race and didn't want Andretti or Fittipaldi and the others of that strategy to get points. Here's the gimmick: i seriously think that they did it on purpose to get a revenge on these drivers because they are not coming back next year and will leave the Cart series for the nascar (Fittipaldi) or the IRL series. I know it is big what i'm saying but try to prouve me wrong! Disgusting decisions my by officials from Cart...

When commentators on tv heard it will be a 40 lap race instead of the 36 they were laughing so hard (french channel) by saying "when people will wake up tomorrow to see in their newspaper that Dominguez (who pit 4 times yesterday!!!!) won the race they will think that it is april fools!!!" It is like if ALEX YOONG in F1 win a race!!!

Officials in Cart, i have one word for you this morning...:gf:

Don't sweat it, man. I watched much of that debacle and didn't understand it. Thx for your explanation. Does seem like a flogging. Strange, weird, looked like they couldn't have been moving faster than 50mph behind the pace car. Go figure.

Don't worry about it, man. Bizarre race and result. Not much you could do about it.

Later, mang.

not so sure because of (another...) stupid rule. Official were saying that if the race would have ended on lap 36, Fittipaldi would have been the winner because his pit stop is AFTER the start/finish line while Andretti would have been obliged to pit before the end because HIS pit his BEFORE the start/finish line... On Andretti team they were saying another interpretation of that rule so for sure the race would have ended in a contreversy between these 2 drivers but regardless it wasn't the reason why these jerks decided to add 4 more laps. They just wanna revenge on these drivers and let Dominguez win his first (and hopefully last...)race. IF WE HAD KNOWN BEFORE....:( The lesson i got is NEVER BET A RACE IN CART ON WET CONDITIONS BECAUSE YOU WILL BE AT OFFICIALS'S MERCY!!!!
