How long before our taxes are increased to fiscally aid the indigent?

How much will Gov't be expanded?

Are you excited that it is inevitable that no matter how much you want to succeed individually, you will be rewarded by your Gov't by taking more of your earnings and spreading it among the lazy and uninspired?

Exciting to be headed back to socialism?

Go ahead and start spinning about a corrupt war etc....answer the damn questions above, first.

Thank You.

Wilson,

What facts are you basing your bullshit on? How much did your taxes go up under 8 years of Clinton? Who passed the most widespread welfare reform act in the history of the country? (hint: Clinton) Government spending decreased under Clinton, while government spending increased under your boy Bush.

"spending as a percentage of the economy actually declined under Clinton, from 17 percent of gross domestic product to 15.5 percent, before rising smartly under the present administration from 15.5 to 16.5 percent."

How much money did you make off of the reduced capitol gains tax? Did that dividend yield tax break put a bunch of cash in your pocket? You got a $300 check like every other middle class sucker and walk around thinking Bush and Cheney are on "your side." Getting you to understand is impossible I know. It is a much simpler world you live in. Democrats want to give your money away to lazy worthless minorities because they hate capitalism, freedom, and everything America stands for. Republicans are good Americans, Democrats are evil socialists. No need to think about or analyze anything. Rush will do that for you.

Wilson-

First the only thing I have heard out of any Democrats mouth is just stopping the tax cuts of the top incomes. Which I guess means leaving middle class and below their tax cuts.

Also I wouldn't say a thing about more gov't in our lives and spending. The republicans(which I thought might stop or reduce this) are in our lives more than ever. You even have Dr. Freeze saying crap about them.

You sound like an angry person about the democrats taking control of Congress, but why did it happen. Maybe because they did nothing in six years except spend like a Democrat high on coke or my wife the day after Thanksgiving. Absolutely no immigration reform. Do I have to go on, and i didn't even mention the war. I mean Bush/Cheney have finally had the shit pile up over their heads they were asking for Democrats help now they are asking for Syria to help resolve Iraq. WOW:scared

Holy CRAP, how did I miss this one until right before I have to leave work!?! Probably my fear of looking in the thread and actually being a booger eater. Damn.

At any rate, I should have some time to attack this one over the next few days. Rarely have so many softballs been tossed in front of my bat.

I think I'll start with the expanding government thing...I love it when an apologist for the Bush administration and Republican legislators starts off a challege with that one...:142smilie

We see in above chart why folks wanted tax rebate so bad as federal reciepts reached record 20% + in later years of Clinton Admin.

with federal deficit about 2% of GDP and lotta states in surplus, the overall goverment defecit is pretty punny.

A 400 billion dollar apology

You just have to look at poor Mr. Bush and shake your head in sympathy because he has only two more years to achieve a victory...that he already declared on a carrier.

This poor man is always mixed up.

It's kind of sad how the Bush apologists and the sean hannity's of the world are still trying to impeach Bubba for a Blow Job?

Sean Hannity has two more years and two months to milk his Iraq Myth..then what will he do with himself.

He is a bitter young man that Sean Hannity, the modern day goebbels.
He knows not what he does either. He still has time to save his soul. He is powerless over himself.

Sean Hannity needs Power For Living ..

How much will Gov't be expanded?

I think that got into full swing with the Republican-backed effort to further outlaw funding of offshore internet gambling accounts.

Terry I haven't figured out how to cut and paste graphs yet--I always thought pictures might be easier to understand for some--but apparently not. :)

I agree the picture is pretty easy to understand. I see a dramatic rise in receipts under Clinton, and a dramatic drop in outlays, which signal a healthy economy in my mind. Under Bush, I see a dramatic drop in reciepts, a dramatic rise in outlays, with a rise over the past two years in receipts to get those levels back to average, and no way to definitely predict where they would go after that. Tough to spin pictures, unless you are going to photoshop the lines, I guess. Perhaps somewhere in between might be a good solution, but can't see how we've gone there over the past few years.

Thank You.

I'll give it a shot. If you mean, when will the tax cuts previously enacted be repealed (another, more appropriate way to explain the situation) to adequately fund programs that affect ALL Americans and make this country better than others, I would guess attempts will be made over the next couple of years - which will surely be veto'd by Bush in his desire to work together with the Democrats. I'm personally proud that my country looks out for all of its citizens, and not just the kings and queens.

Honestly, I seriously doubt that over the next two years that the overall government will expand at all, in fact I would expect it to shrink with what I am reading, especially considering the Iraq occupation (which is appropriate to talk about in this context).

I am excited that our progressive tax system should work well, benefitting all Americans. If I could see any evidence of the current progressive tax system putting undue pressure on those making more money and causing them to not try to make more money and continue to work hard, I might give that some credence. However, in both our former and current tax rates, those in the upper brackets are earning a larger percentage of income than ever before, tax payments included. So, I guess the rich aren't giving up, despite the pity party put forth by conservatives. They are actually excelling, which should be exciting to everyone.

Proud to live in a thriving democracy, although a little more embarrassed about how my administration has acted worldwide than it had previously. I see no socialism, just freedom and democracy, in a great country.

Now that I've given it a shot, can we talk about the corrupt war? Or perhaps about what this administration has done to fiscally aid the super rich and corporations, and really not too much to show for that except record profits? Much to discuss on both sides, with value points on both.
