Round 1 play (4pts):
Jeev Milkha Singh to beat Danny Lee -111 @ Bet365
It was a good year on the Nationwide Tour for Lee - he finished in the top-10 in nine of 18 starts, including one win, and secured his PGA Tour Card for next season. However, he has come in for criticism because of his decision to play in this event and try and earn a place in the lucrative Dubai World Championship on the European Tour instead of playing in his home New Zealand Open this week. He had initially committed to play in that event, which is why he appears on all the promotional posters at Clearwater, but was a late withdrawal. That may, and perhaps should, affect his play this week. In contrast to Lee's record of missing the cut by seven shots the sole time that he played in Hong Kong, Singh has never missed the cut here and has four top-20 finishes in his last five visits to Hong Kong. With a first round h2h record of 8-2-2 to the Indian in 2011, he should be happier of the two with his decision to play here at the end of tomorrow's round.
[unofficial rd1 system plays: Jaidee tb Green -110; Lawrie Pe tb Kjeldsen -111; Larrazabal tb Colsaerts -120; Molinari tb Colsaerts -125; Maybin tb Boyd -110; Yang tb Jimenez -125; Manassero tb Jimenez -111]
