Hoops -

I was just wondering if for some of the new people that come in here if you could answer just a few questions for us ?

1. Where did the name Hoops originate from and why have you used it for so long ?

2. What would you say is your strongest ability when it comes to capping games ?

3. What is the one thing that you would consider a edge to winning on any given play ?

4. Would you say you are a favorite player or underdog kinda of a guy ?

5. Are you making money for people using your service ?

I don't have all the answers, I just have these few questions.

Thanking you in advance.

1. I've always been a huge basketball fan, played it my entire life, and a favorite college basketball columnist , Dick Weiss, his nickname was 'Hoops'. That's where I got it from and never saw any reason to change it.

2. Strongest ability...I'm not big into trends or mathematical equations, etc.,...I'm very subjective and have confidence in my ability to ascertain players and teams. I spend a great deal of time following as many games as I can on TV and the internet, as looking at boxscores at the end of a game don't always tell the story how a game really went or how a particular team played.

3. There isn't one universal edge that applies to every game. Each game is it's own seperate entity. Doing your homework, having knowledge of the sport, and experience certainly help the cause.

4. I'm neither a fave or underdog type of guy. There are weeks when I play 80% faves and weeks I play 80% dogs. I just take what lines/game are presented and after I do my work, come what may, regardless if it's 10 faves and 1 dog or vice versa.

5. I haven't had a service since early May. I didn't organize nor prepare myself very well for the venture and didn't perform well for the few months I had it. No excuses, bottom line was had more bad weeks than good weeks and decided to discontinue it. If I ever decided to try it again I would go about things much differently.

Hope that helps..thanks and good luck this weekend.

Thanks for responding. Enjoyed your comments and answers. Didnt mean to ask you about the service stuff but I didnt know.
Hey basketball is coming sooner than we think :)...

Maybe it didnt work out the first time but like you say if you had it to over you would do it differant.

It should show how really tough it is to be successfull at a sports service and should stand as a lesson to the rest of us here that might think its all peachs and cream.

In my short time here I just know that you are one of the best cappers here. Integrity and no petty bs with you .

Good luck on your future ventures and thanks again.
