HOT day at the Derby

... but not at the betting windows. After predicting a high of only 80 degress, the mercury reached 86 yesterday with a very slight breeze and mostly sunny skies. The beer vendors had a banner day (as usual) yet I didn't notice as many obvious drunks as in years past (25 and counting). There was a guy in the infield with a hat with radio controlled horses, steamboats and twin spires - it was frickin' huge. I also saw 'The Naked Cowboy' in the infield - a large, buff young man wearing nothing but an American Flag, cowboy hat and tighty whitey underwear playing a guitar and singing country songs.

I never cashed a win ticket all day. Had a couple of seconds, thirds, and Congaree in the Derby. Some guy sitting right behind me had the trifecta in the Derby - $12,238 on a $2 ticket.
