Hot Rumor!!

There is a hot rumor going around that is the following....


- The Eagles would receive the No. 2 overall pick from the Titans, which they would then use to draft Mariota.

- The Chargers would receive Sam Bradford, the Eagles? first-round pick and the Titans? second-round pick.

- The Titans would receive Philip Rivers and the Eagles? third-round pick.


I wouldn't make this trade (Rivers is 34 years old) if I were the Titans unless they were a QB away from being very competitive to go deep into the playoffs....

Kelly is a bad poker player, but he has a solid poker face and doubtful he'll trade Bradford just to move up to get Mariota. I was all for the Eagles to move up, but they are on solid ground with two vet qbs who've ran Chip's type of offensive scheme and they can always get a steal in the 2nd or 3rd round should Hundley or Bryce Petty fall to the 2nd round.

The Titans have been rumored to go after Rivers, he's a southern boy, Bama raised, his father coached in my back yard for a couple years before moving away once Philip went pro out of NC State. Chargers know signing Philip to a new deal with their unsettled situation if they move to LA or not, who knows? But Philip wants to get a ring before he's done and he knows he's got maybe 2-3 solid years ahead of him and that's probably it, he's not very mobile and Titans don't offer very good pass protection. Titans front office is a mess and Whisenhunt probably bit off more than he could chew taking that job but he wanted back in the NFL. Metzenberger is not a bad QB but the Titans need some OL to help protect him.

Who knows? Rumors sometime come to fruition.

I like the trade except I don't think the Titans needs to give up their 2nd to the Chargers for this to happen. Bradford and a number 1 is enough for Rivers at this stage of his career.

If Chip wants Marcus then it's a good trade for them, I wouldn't do it. I think Bradford is going to kill it in his offense.

I don't know the Titans well enough to know how close they are but IMO Rivers has 3-4 years left in him. He's never had a big arm so he's not losing that and he doesn't run so he's not losing that.

AR is very knowledgeable and wouldn't throw out a false rumor!
