funny thing is, despite some on here thinking that i'm a flaming liberal, i don't hate the idea of raising the retirement age. unless, of course, we continue our efforts to bring the average life span back down. then it wouldn't make sense.

but if people are living longer, then the retirement age should probably be raised. that said, it should be accompanied by a reinstitution of pensions. since clearly most americans can't be counted on to properly utilize a 401(k).
