i may be wrong here but who the hell is san diego to give anyone 13 points in a game? because they whipped a possibly overated bengal team-last sunday? no im not saying the bengals are overrated-but the forecasters said good things coming this year for cincinnati! well i didnt see that on sunday!

san diego traveled east to play bengals on sunday ,and houston played @ home vs dallas-and beat there asses to every level they could! now if houston comes into this game a little flat after the big emotional win on sunday-i still think getting +13 is a very solid play! have to look into this one alot more! right now i just dont get it? that is alot of points for an unproven charger team! look what happened on sunday -i said the same thing when i posted houston +9 and said this line was way to high!

I like Houston getting 13 in this spot, also. Not taking anything away from San Diego last week, but a decent college team would have beaten the Bengals last week. Houston has shown that Capers has built a very respectable defense and a capable offense. I see extreme value in Houston getting the 13 points in this spot.:D

This isn't the same Charger team!

This isn't the same Charger team!

The Texans won't generate any offense at all in this game. The Charger defense is down right nasty, Chargers will force enough turnovers and field position to cover the spread but I am passing on this one. Don't like laying big numbers on NFL games although I still think it's a solid play.

I think Dallas has a pretty good defense also and Houston won outright. Houston's defense is pretty good and a young quarterback (ie. dallas) may have some problems. If they can force Breese into a mistake or two, they should stay within the 13pts. I know Carr will have his problems also but I have to take the points in what I see as a low scoring game.

Jmizeus- You go to the Bills games at all? I have season tickets in the Paul McGuire Club seats. Been a big Bills fan since Dennis Shaw days, to young to remember before that.

shes a fan of the game-but is a nurse and works alot during the week-end! so i usually take a friend w/me! someday we will have to hook-up my friend!

as far as the charger game-the thing i dont understand is this team just came back from a east coast road trip-and now favored by 13 points? i just dont get it? like i said this could be my biggest play of the week! gl;!

I haven't capped the game yet, so I dont know which side will be a play (if any). But, I thought the spread was a bit high, I was expecting a flat 10 or so , so 13-14 jumped right out at me.

While I wouldn't run to the window to play the Chargers, I can't imagine the Texans scoring more than 10 points, 13 max. The question then becomes can the Chargers put up 23-26? Remember that Houston had a loud and voracious crowd cheering them on last week. The Charger crowds are nothing to write home about, but I don't see many people there pulling for Houston. The Chargers also hae an incentive to beat up on the weaker teams (Cinn) simply because they can. The Texans are not the Raiders. I think they will go all out to get a convincing win.

one of the reason why houston beat dallas was that the dallas offensive line has not played one down yet together due to injury and thus struggled to give protection or create holes. i agree dallas d is good but san diego's d is better but not only that brees is a much better qb than carter. having said all that i like houston to cover primarily because of the coach. dom capers is a fine coach who has been in this situation before and has put in a simple system for his rookie qb to cut down on mistakes. sometimes that's all it takes to not get blown out or to sneak a win here and there. the line seems to reflect the expansion status of houston but this team has enough veterans and talent from the expansion draft to keep it close or atleast closer than 13 points.

jmizues, thats funny because my wife is also a nurse and very rarely goes to the games with me. We should have won last week but we played well on both sides of the ball, just those damn special teams killed us.
It was a great game though. Can you believe we controled the ball for 39 minutes or something like that. I'm taking the Bills +5 only because Minny can't run the ball so I'm hoping they can win this one outright because I doubt they'll win in Denver the following week. I know I'm biased here so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, I'm just a fan. :Yep:
As far asthe other game, SD comes off a blow out of a Cinn team everyone read was improving and was actually favored by 2 at kickoff. SD comes in and kicks their asses all over the place and that has to be reflected in this weeks line. I like to go against teams that look like world beaters the week before as it is hard to keep that rolling, although they could against an expansion club. I still believe Houston's Defense keeps them in this game and Carr has enough talent to put a few points on the board. I'm all over the points in this one:D

Chargers on a mission this year!!

Chargers on a mission this year!!

I don't know about the Boltz being -13 this week but they ARE on a mission this year as they want a new stadium. If they make the playoffs it helps their chances of getting it and as the superbowl is here in San Diego this year if they can make it (A stretch I know!) a new stadium will probably be a lock!! AKA The Padres going to the world series and getting their stadium approved. They have their work cut out for them though as they have the 2nd toughest schedule this year!!

I am not going to say any team is worth -13.

I have been SHOUTING since the start of last year:
GET RID OF HEAD COACH RILEY.
The Chargers are not playing over their heads. Schottenheimer is exactly what they needed. He is not Lombardi. He has been ridiculed for taking a terrible Redskins team last year and getting them .500.
The Chargers needed a "kick-ass head coach" to make them play up to their potential. They have been building for 13 years!!!!
This is the start.

They destroyed a Bengal team that was aledgedly a playoff contender.

Watch Cincinnati this week to see if the Chargers are a fluke, or the real thing.

Agree with the fact that Schottenheimer is what San Diego needed to pull their heads out. My prediction is for the Texans to get shut out 23-0.

I agree that there is a strong possibility that the chargers will pitch a shut out - or hold the Texans to fg's only.
