In the 10 coldest games in NFL history the average score was 30.4. I don't think this is all that important because they were mostly played in a different era. Most recent game was in 2008 with Green Bay versus the Giants.

What I did find interesting was that each team averaged 2.5 turnovers per game. That is a significant amount of turnovers.

Field goal kicks are affected by the same factors as anything else flying through the air--wind, temperature, and even altitude. In this post, we'll take a look at how temperature affects field goal success.

The graph below illustrates the success rate for field goals according to kick distance (noted as the line of scrimmage) and broken out by three temperature ranges.
