I agree. I just emailed the Va Tech coach to suggest they have having another team vote to consider playing Army. USC should also reconsider. Either way I think someone will step up.

I may be wrong but I think 1952 was last year there was an Army/USC game. TV ratings would be high if someone would step up and accept the bid.

La Tech at 9-3 would be great choice if they would reconsider.
Nebraska and Michigan State would also be good matchups.
Oklahoma and Texas A&M should be playing instead of the Aggies playing number 13 UNC in the Orange Bowl.
It?s all about the $ I guess. Irish are getting 20 points in the semifinal? Hope Bama wins 52-17.

Army should be going bowling North Texas is playing today in the 1st bowl game with a record of 3-4. although Army hasn't played anybody, either has North Texas or a few of the other teams playing in bowl games. Nobody wants to play Army because they don't want to play a wishbone team. North Texas opted out of 3 or 4 future games vs Army. Look at 2 yrs ago when Oklahoma won in overtime . Not one single player at Army could start for Oklahoma and last year Michigan won in overtime 24-21 when they were ranked 7th in the country. Oklahoma was rated 5th I think. I feel bad for the Black Nites but they did beat Navy and Air Force ..

The Black Knights got royally screwed... the whole system this year of allowing teams with below .500 records is absurd as you have quite a few like Kentucky, Ole Miss, North Texas, etc, but Army at 9-2, forget about it! I am surely missing others below .500 as I didn't look very hard, but South Carolina at 2-8 takes the cake!

At least the trivia question of what is the worse record to ever qualify for a bowl will always belong to the Gamecocks!

I have always said that the purest form of the sport is displayed by the academy football teams. Teams that give their all every play the entire game and compete with the best teams in the country despite not having a player that could start for the teams that the play. These are the men that will protect the freedoms of this country, so this snub could not be more shameful for the NCAA.

It is the corrupt bowl system but mostly the pussified Pac 10. Is there anything at all besides the weather to like about CA? The blame is on that conference. They screwed up their whole season so now they have to screw up others. Meanwhile, the Big Ten keeps changing the rules they established to benefit Ohio State. The ACC messed with the schedule to benefit Clemson and Notre Dame. Only saving grace is the SEC. They did this right from the beginning. Sure SC and MsST have no business being in a bowl game, but at least they stepped up. At least now everyone is getting a glimpse at how corrupt the NCAA and the Conferences really are. They could give a shit about the student athlete. It is all about the almighty dollar and 2020 has exposed them all this year.

I love college football, but they are definitely trending in the wrong direction (do not even get me started about the rigged playoff format) and need some real leadership to right the ship.

Sorry for the rant, but this just drives me nuts.

Just heard Tennessee has opted out of Liberty Bowl. Hope Army can fill the spot.

I was reading this thread and then read the rant and I agreed w so much of it. Only thing I didn't agree w was that 2020 exposed it....well, it just exposed it even more. I wasn't even looking at who was posting what and so I looked over to see who was ranting so much that I agreed with and saw "BASON" and then respected the rant even more.

I'm really hoping Army gets a bowl out of this. I'll try to be brief and not repeat a lot of what I've said in the past. My dad coached high school football for 20 years and he ran a lot of offenses similar to Army. Often had less talent but still won. He's always said...option football is tough as hell to stop. Years and years ago he told me, the only reason they don't run it in the NFL is b/c they have so much time to prepare for it and the QB's can't take the punishment. He'd say, there is a hell of a lot to defend in that damn triple option and if the quarterback can throw the ball even just a little bit, you can overcome lack of talent and stay in ball games.

I love Army and so glad they've finally started winning again the last few years. For awhile there not only were they losing a lot but they were losing to Navy almost every year. Not any more. Go Army....Beat Everybody!!

Army scandal is rocking West Point today The worst scandal in their history I tried to paste it from my local paper but it didn't work . 80 cadets were caught cheating on a math test . think it was a take home test due to the C-19.. many cadets are resigning there commissions. Not sure if any football players are involved. they have an honor system and cadets are admitting to the cheating... right now a bowl game is a secondary concern to the Academy...

It was a Calculus exam Box, so I think all of the students were first years, so I do not think it affected the football team. I agree it is a big deal, but I really do not think it will have any effect of the game.

That sucks. I kept thinking it was a setup for a punchline or maybe something about Covid Tests being so faulty. I will say that I think most colleges have an honor system. I know mine did. It's prob a bigger deal at the military schools though, not sure.

It took me 7 years to graduate and I needed tutors in a few classes but no way would I ever cheat. You get caught cheating and you're gone...or at least that's how it was at my university.

I hope it's not as bad as it sounds. I love and respect Army and all the military schools.
