a year in college hoops where the chalk in the title game DIDNT win the game straight up?

do we have to go all the way back to arizona over ucla?
i really dont remember to be honest.
if anyone has stats of the last, say, 8-10 title games, please post em. it seems like theres always title game upsets in pro football, or college football or whatever-

but it seems like the "power team" always seems to win the title game in college hoops lately- no matter how live the dog appears to be.

(obviously i know there were a lot of upsets in the 80's, but im talking like 1990-to-present)

thanks guys. cant believe the uconn one slipped my mind. theres no reason for me to forget a game where former cavalier draft bust trajan langdon dribbled the ball off his ankle before even attempting the game winning shot, lol.

nonetheless, gjn23- those numbers are pretty convincing in terms of a SU chalk win. doesnt look like many dogs are winning outright. could be a testament to how hard it is to win 6 straight games against a strong field of 64 of the best teams in the country.

So. Cal
remember "past results don't guarantee future success".

Having a tough time capping this game.

Loved The Cuse 3 weeks ago at the draw to make the Final 4, had them vs Texas on one side and that was a toss up to me. All week, however I fell in love with the Cuse as they have just about everything a team needs. Size, shooting, role players and the best NBA player on the court.

However.

Kansas beat my team in the UA and they are playing very well. They have been able to win when not playing very well (Utah State/Duke) have blown people out (ASU/Marquette) and beat the 1st or 2nd best team in UA in a tough battle. I though Kansas was the 3rd best team in the country coming into the tourney and have played like it.

However.

Roy WIlliams can't win the REAL BIG ones but neither can Boeheim (a bunch of crap however).
The due theory...Kansas is due to play back to a mediocre level.
The Cuse has played well but not outstanding like Kansas, they may have their best game left in them.
The 2-3 zone may cause problems, seems to have for almost every team becasue the Cuse has size, length and quickness...but if Kansas gets out and runs before they set up the 2-3 zone does it matter?
The 2-3 zone can bottle up the inside game and outside of Heinrich I still don't think Kansas has any great 3 pt shooters, but they do have some slashers in Langford/Miles.

All that said I'll probably leave my handicapping to the PLay Station 2 winner and/or my shlep rock loser friend who picks 30% winners. If play stations says Kansas and my friend says the Cuse.....KANSAS IS A LOCK. If play station says the Cuse and my friend says Kansas...CUSE IS A LOCK.

Nice handicapping huh?
