Someone asked me what factors I use to choose the unders. Clothes are in the dryer so thought will whip up a few points.
Just to give pointers to what I look for in an Under for what its worth. Hopefully this will help and please give me feedback so I can improve my capping:
A. The direction where the team is heading last couple of games
B. How the team is playing @ home and on the road
[ for example : Ducks play great defence @ home but on the road it is a different story ]
C. The motivation factor for each team. In this game today I think Boston has much more motivation to win @ home than the Caps.
D. Luck factor [Sometimes things just dont work right for some teams .. same like a bad patch that all bettors hit - better to stay off that team @ that time - quite a lot of the goals were freak - fluke goals against Caps]
E. The Big Qs of Empty Netter - Will there be an empty netter. This can at best be an educated guess. But some teams seem to give up the empty netter much more than others when they have the extra man on the floor.
F. Matchup's - Some teams play defensive game against one another.
G. Goaltending - Is the goaltender hot or prev record against opposition
H. Shots on goal by opposition and shots on goal allowed
More shots usually more chances of goal except in case of the Maple Leafs
I. Goals scored in last 5 - 10 games and goals allowed
J. Penalty Killing and Power Play in last 5-10 games.
Other pointers also but these are some of the key factors.
