How much does this fire you up if your a coach

Some of you may know that I have coached a select bantam football team for 7-8 year olds. It a league called Texas School of Football and it is for advanced players. Anyway, last year we won the Super Bowl and had the number one offense and defense in the league. Well this year we have one helluva quarterback that we didn't have last year. Well, somehow the coach of the Southlake Carroll HS football team which is consistently ranked in the top ten in the US called me just a few minutes ago and has made arrangements for our boys to BE ON THE FIELD TO HIGH FIVE THE TEAM COMING OUT OF THE TUNNEL FOR THE HOME OPENER. Holy how cool is that. I don't have any children other than my 22 yr old daughter but I was so excited for these boys I damn near lost it talking to this AD. What a thrill. I am absolutely totally pumped. I will take as many pics as I can. Not only that we got our uniforms back today. The Fighting Irish with Las Vegas Gold pants, Dark Kelly Green Jerseys with gold numbers outlined in white the same with numbers and ........yes you guessed a local auto body shop Painted our helmets for us Notre Dame gold. How friggin awesome is that for some boys to go play football. It cost me a bit of coin for the game tix and stuff but I can't friggin wait!!!!!!

I am totally psyched bro. I am gonna stay way out of the way. The AD said he would even let his stars talk a bit to the boys..........I am fuhking thrilled for these guys.



I gotta tell you people something I may seem like the biggest prick on this forum but the privilege of spending a season with these guys and sometimes two is like no other thrill in the world. When those boys look up to you and basically do anything within their power just to try to please you is the best feeling in the world.....hands down....I know its a bit of a different side than you guys might see but I will try to get some pics of our team in full uniforms next week Jerseys arent all done yet

Is their home opener the game against that team from Florida?

I caught a couple Dragon games when I was living in the DFW area. That should be a great experience for those kids.

Coached an under 8 league years ago. At this level you can't call it soccer. We refered to it as swarm ball! :142smilie Just tell them to have a good time and you're buying ice cream cones after the game!

Have never watched an 8-Under soccer game before but i guess its like running around in circles by the players. You think they ever score a goal?
