Actually - sounds like you have Windows Vista. This is your big problem first of all.

Last and final advice is to hold down F2, turn on computer see what prompts, if any, that you get.

Doesn't work?

Try F7 since F8 didn't work. Vista is full of issues.

Doesn't work?

Try doing this with delete button and see if you can get into the BIOS. If so, turn it off and get someone to fix it.

If not, get a mac.

Good luck.

(JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE - YOU PRESS THE F8 BUTTON AND THEN TURN IT ON - HOLDING THE BUTTON DOWN UNTIL YOU GET A PROMT...RIGHT???? JUST CHECKING)

still "No bootable device"

Should I just get a Mac

Once you go mac - you never look back.

Tell you what - it sounds like you have a memory problem with your computer - in fact, I can pretty much guarantee it.

Look for a computer repair (other than Geek Squad) store (just call up a computer repair place and ask them if Geek squad us a rip off. If they say yes, we're much cheaper - take it to them - better yet, give it to a kid in high school. He will fit it with new memory)

Or - get a mac and never look back. (If you're just surfing the web and getting email and storing photos, then get a mac.)

Thanks for your time Joker. I'll see if a High Schooler can fix it
