Fairchild is out at CSU and while McElwain could be a good coach, their should be a learning period even though the offense will pretty much stay the same. Whole new playbook, terminology, etc. though.

The DLine was supposed to be the high point of the defense but Capi was expelled after a fight (was sack leader in Mountain West last year) and then James asked for his release from the team. He was supposed to be a leader up front after Capi was gone.

The OL is pretty dreadful too, as it was last year, from what I have read.

Colorado State wide receiver Thomas Coffman won't be on the field against Colorado when the Rams unveil their offense under new head coach Jim McElwain according to Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post.

Coffman is expected to miss two to three weeks after undergoing an unspecified surgery.

Coffman was also projected to start as the Rams' slot receiver. With him out of the lineup, McElwain and his offensive staff are more likely to use a traditional offensive set to open the game instead of three-wide. H-back Jake Levin will likely be on the field when the ball is snapped the first time against the Buffaloes.
