The Timberwolves can't throw it in Lake Minnetonka as they've scored 90 points just once in their last six games. Dallas coach Avery Johnson is rightfully fixated on defense and his Mavs have held three of their last four foes under 90 points.
Minnesota shot 32.5 percent in scoring only 70 points at Miami on Sunday. After Kevin Garnett and Wally Szczerbiak, no other starter in averaging in double figures. Troy Hudson was the team's third scoring option, but he has been horrible offensively since his calf injury last month.
Dallas has won two straight at Minnesota and has had success defending Garnett, who has 24 turnovers in his last five games versus the Mavs. Dallas held Portland to 37 percent shooting in Tuesday's win over the Trailblazers. And still Johnson wasn't satisfied as his team will bring the defensive clamps again tonight.
