Pitt/NYM Under9 -120

Pitt's starting lineup is already full of players with nagging injuries, Mets big bats have not shown that they're on track yet including the spring. Alomar and Vaughn were bombarded by reporters after going o-fer in the first game, which I think will make them press a bit at the plate, especially Vaughn who didn't play at all last year. Pitt didn't even have their workout yesterday due to the injury bug, and got 4 measly singles in the season opener. Weather forecast is cloudy sky and afternoon shower and the Under is well above .500 at Shea the last 3 yrs in that situation. Even if Pitt gets 1, 2 runs, don't see the Mets scoring more than 5, 6 runs today.

Parlay NYM-210 / Under9 Will only parlay big chalk, not straight up early in the season. Saved losing 2 1/2 units by parlaying LA and Hou yesterday.

Good luck ddubs!

I got the same information and also heard the wind was blowing in. That, with the heavier air, and a fairly neutral umpire, had to play it.

wanted to pass along, that on my sportsnow pager it says wind is blowing out left center at 10-20 mph. and the o/u at 9 went from under 9 -125 to over 9 -115.

Thanks, Wolf and Pete. I actually got the info as 10-20 mph gust out to center-left center. And the Under is something like 37-22 (the exact number eludes me) in that condition.

Hopefully the numbers will hold true.

Good luck.

BTW for anyone who cares, the parlay is only for 1/2 unit.:D

Nite card...

Dodgers -110 (Nomo) By far the best spring pitcher on the staff, and should have started the opening day if not for Brown insisting that he could pitch effectively (3-1, ERA 1.8 in spring). With Ishii in town, the media circus has laid off of Nomo. Nomo comes home to Chavez Ravine where he usually shines, and now added a slider to his repertoire of forkball and low 90mph fastball. Nomo like Browny has been a Giants killer (7-2, ERA 1.8), but Browny was not Browny of old yesterday, and Nomo has gotten better with experience and injury free. Not to mention Barry bats .160 against Nomo. Ortiz has always been a control pitcher, but this spring had been struggling big time, leading the majors with 18BB's in 28IP. This line is way off IMO.

Angels -110 (Sele) Huge confidence boost for this team clawing from behind to tie 3 times before going ahead for good, against the impressive lefty Sabathia. Finley last start was impressive number-wise (6inning shutout) against the Reds, BUT they were disguised by all Cinci AAA players. At 39 years old, I can't back him even though he's coming home to Edison Field. Sele's already a club house favorite by beaning Ryan Klesko in a spring training game.

Looking at a few more, GLAll

Valentine is an IDIOT

Valentine is an IDIOT

2-1 lead, runners on 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs, 8th place hitter in the box, pitcher on deck (from the AL, no less). Sure, let's pitch to the hitter with the 1st base open, who promptly dumps a single in the outfield for 2 rbis. I thought the managers are supposed to be helping his own club, not the opposing clubs? He ruined the Mets chance for a win today, that's for sure.

Short on time.....adding

Yanks Under9 Fishy number? Maybe. But both Wells and Johnson had outstanding spring. Wells supposed rededicated this season to stay in shape and concentrate on baseball. Clemens wasn't the same after he hurt his hand. Higher percentage play going under.

Rangers+160 (Burba) Too talented team to be swept? Nice price, so couldn't resist.

White Sox+160 (Wright) Equal talent in starting pitching, equally explosive offensive ball club. White Sox has proved that they can play with the big boys the 1st 2 games. So like the +160 return, even though it's in Seattle.

Cinci +140 (Dessens) Woods a big Reds killer historically, but Cubbies bats are struggling, and Woods spring numbers weren't very persuasive.

Philly +165 (Padilla) Anti-Millwood, as simple as that. Padilla a disappointment as closer, better numbers as starter.:D

Good Luck All, might add a late one or 2.:toast:

Making the Dodgers a 2 Unit play. First one of the young season.

Some additional stats and info. Ortiz 2-3, 6.99 ERA vs LA in 7 games. ERA is 1.7 higher on the road than home. Had a break out season last year, but his terrible spring stats may suggest that he might be reverting to his old form prior to last year. The 18 walks in 28 IP really jumped out at me, especially how Tracy said that he's committed to playing small ball, evidenced by Roberts scoring 2 runs last nite, with Izturis bunting him over, and Roberts and Karros of all people attempting steals. Nomo with the impressive spring start has not lost his opening game in 3 yrs and is notoriously fast starter in April.

Good Luck All:toast:

Damn, Boiler. Was wondering where the heck you went. I looked at the Dodger game all day, trying not to let my heart get involved. But I still love Nomo coming back to Chavez Ravine. There should be a huge turn out for the return of Nomo-Mania. Hopefully it will go our way.

Late play.........

Tx Over9.5 +105 At this price, feel that it's worth a shot. After Mulder and Hudson, Tx bats will be happy to see Zito.
