I watched Ishii pitch last week. He is having trouble with his mechanics, his control and his attitude. He might be hurt or he might just be getting a little tired. In any case, I predict 4 or 5 walks from him and Toronto's bats seem to have awakened so they may cash some of those base runners.

The Dodgers had their lowest run output in nearly a month and I don't think that Green (.387 in the past month with 17 HRs over that span) and the rest of the Dodgers (22 more HRs for the rest of the squad over that month) will be fooled by Justin Miller and his ERA of 5.81. Five days ago, the 'Spos tagged him for six runs and eight hits in 4.1 IPs.

An added issue is the probable absence of Chris Woodward the Jays' SS who pulled a groin muscle Tuesday. Toronto's defense might suffer and an LA run or two could result. I think that the total of 7' is 2 or 3 runs low. This will over by the fifth inning.

Pick: Dodgers/Jays over 7' even

The total is now at 7.5 ev.

Ishii's last 5 starts have played Over.

I think all of Miller's starts on the road have played Over.
(3-0).

In last 3 starts Miller is 1-2 Over/Under but the 2 Unders were with Colorado (who is hitting very poorly) and Tampa Bay. .. well TB on the road was horrible in Toronto.

Only thing I am concerned about is that the home plate umpire
Marquez is 5-9 Over-Under.

But as jng said before LA bats will wake up. Miller is not the same calibre pitcher as Roy Halliday and I think that at least 9-10 runs will be scored in this game.

Taking the Over 7.5 also.

Cheers and good luck

I agree. I think Ishii is a little overrated on the moneyline also. The ball may not carry well at night there but if LA can get into that Toronto bullpen they should be able to get plenty of base hits.

FYI

FYI

As far as that umpires 5-9 O/U record that may be a bit skewed. When O/U was 9 he was 2-2 and when it was 8.5 he was 2-2. A couple of those unders were in games where the total was set at 11+ which are more likely to run under.

He averages 8.79 rpg.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
erratic Ishii

erratic Ishii

from Robinson's AP recap of April 24:

"Ishii barely got out of the Pirates' six-run second inning, throwing a remarkable 52 pitches --
nine of the 12 batters reached base -- while turning a three-run lead into a three-run deficit......

"Ishii (4-0), the former Japanese star who cost the Dodgers nearly $25 million to sign, was all
over the place in the second. He threw one pitch in the dirt, the next so high and wide that
catcher Paul Lo Duca barely got a glove on it....."

.......................................................................................................................

Ishii pitched a seven inning, 3 hit, one run gem after that Pirate start.

So he could be very good tonight. He is saying he's getting more comfortable in US.

or he could be poor again, and get into lots of jams!?

More than Ishii playing great I am sure LA wanna catch up with Zona. I have seen Miller pitch and he is an average pitcher. LA should be able to go after him. The ball is not carrying a lot (at least at night from last game's viewing) but there will be definitely much more hits. Halliday has a great curve ball and he used it very effectively. Miller has more of a slider i think and LA should be able to hit him around. Jays defence is not that great.

As per the umpire i did not have a chance to see what were the totals around. As saint said the figure may be misleading. Anyways always chance to go 6-9 :D

More money seems to be flowing on the Over. I got it at even now its -125 and rising.

Cheers !!!
