The Wizards/Det game will go over 184.5.

Without MJ, the Wizards have become a more up tempo team vowing to run ALOT in MJ's absence. In the post game interview with Courtney Alexander after the Wiz put up 113 points (maybe it was 115) against Chicago, he said how happy he and some of the other players (Hamilton, Whitney) are fast breaking and creating a faster pace. He mentioned that MJ prefers a half court game, etc....

Detroit does have an excellent defense but they do have the ability to score points - especially against the Wizards who don't play much D.

Lastly, at home, the Wiz ould put up more points than they do on the road. I don't have stats to back that up yet but I am curious to find that out.....

I haven't posted in awhile but I do follow the messgae board/Dalla's posts often. We'll see

Good luck with whatever you do.

Thanks for the counterpoint...you make a rather convincing case. I'm already on the UNDER, figuring Pistons defense is better than Wizards offense -- I also believe Washington will gradually return to sub-par form after a couple of pretty good games versus ORL and CHI. As far as Washington playing defense, you are corrrect -- but Detroit is simply not putting up big numbers. If the two big men for the Wizards hold stay in the paint, that will force Pistons to win on the permimeter. I'll take my chances with that.

Again, I appreciate the opposing view. That's what the forum is all about.

Nolan-

What did you think of the side? I've seen two of the Wizards last 3 games and it looked like a clear case of wanting revenge on Tuesday against the Bulls after what happened Friday night. I'm thinking post-revenge letdown and that Detroit covers here.

I have watched the last few games and agree, the Wizards have a team that could get out and run with the best of them. That doesnt mean they will make shots all the time when they are running, but their guns like to run.

Although I am typically a believer in the regression to the mean, I am taking the Wiz here, +3.5 and over 184.

No comment on the side......as you know from my record, I'm a toss-up in that category, so making me chose a side might as well be a coin flip. I'm determined to focus more on totals the rest of the way, which has always been more favorable for me. I do agree with Phils' comments about the Wizards. I've watched most of their games this season and -- incredibly -- they are playing as well this last week as at any time this season. I still don't think this team is very good, however -- as they just don't have the muscle inside. To cover, they always need some kind of abnormal game from one of the stiffs -- Jones, Alexander, even little Lue. Hamilton has game, but the rest of them are a gutsy, albeit, below average in talent team.

PS -- I don't like betting road favorites anyway, so I wouldn't play the Pistons in this spot.

Just my opinion.
