That's some sick shit, all the way around. You're correct(even though you didn't exactly say it this way), these guys would not do/say this shit unless that was the 'climate' of the unit.

That responsibility wouldn't necessarily start or end with a General, but it could.

They should start with the CO of the Company ( Captain) and go up from there.

There is little chance to begin with to leave Iraq a peaceful democracy and a US friend, but with units out there doing this shit?

How about this--we use a future event to occur in Oct. The elections in Iraq--not only will they be good indicator of progress or lack of--but come at opportune time--just prior to our elections--and will have equally significant effect or ours--per outcome of theirs--and rightfully so--as the Dems/Rebs should be held accountable for their judgement depending who was correct.

What is the percentage of troops that are under the age of 24? I know I made some pretty dumb decisions at this age on things similar to this thinking it was humorous but not understanding what I was really doing.

I'm not sold that is the minority, no way to prove it, but I would say that is the attitude of many of the 3 & 4 tour guys over their. Nothing better to do with their lives. Even the best soldier, with highest of intentions has to be frustrated as Hell about now.

It is understandable that they would be frustrated as hell. They are not fighting a war. They are occupying a nation. Dimwits still go around saying idiotic shit like "We can win this war" and "Better to fight them there than here". Soldiers are trained and should only be asked to risk their life for the defense of our nation. Pre-emptive wars against a country that posed no threat to us and the subsequent occupation of that country is truly a crime against humanity for all involved.
