Cleveland (AP) - Joyce Beatty was all smiles as the first boxes of returns arrived from various polling places in Cleveland.
Joyce's smiles soon turned to a mood of reflection as the count passed three percent of votes counted.
Incumbent President George W. Bush led his challenger, Senator John F. Kerry with a healthy 56.4%.
Beatty, who held out hope that she would still represent Kerry as a delegate to Ohio's electoral college, stated, "We got Americans to think about issues they otherwise would not have. Just to see so many people voting is a win for me."
