Need some help and advice: A few weeks ago on at Yahoo auctions I bid on several lots on basketball and football cards and won some, I sent the guy a cashers check for $838. I have not heard from the guy and his email has now quit working. Things i know -
1. Im a dumb ass so lets not go through that one
2. His email address was Wesel4u2@aol.com - no longer working
3. Address - PO Box 91756 Louisville, KY 40291
4. The number to the post office where this guy has his Post Office Box - 502-239-2720
5. I'm not the only one who got screwed the were at least 15 others ranging from $10 - $2,800
6. I have a signed Delivery confirmation of mail
7. and a copy of the endorsed check is being faxed over
Thanks for any help or advice

So what your saying is get a plane ticket, go and stake out the
PO BOX, follow him home, kick the holy chit out if the guy ?

sounds reasonable

In addition to that information, you have his name too, correct? You need to file a police report by phone to Louisville with his name and info, then, if I'm not mistaken, this is mail order fraud, and u can file a case with your local postmaster. That's a start at least. Sorry u got screwed, but please pursue it and see what happens.

He perpetrated mail fraud. Obviously you have already alerted the postmaster. Very good possibility they will get your money back for you. He may do time.
Or we could get Ol' six five to look for him. Im sure he's got holes all over the state of Kentucky waiting to hide the remains of a person like this. For a nominal fee ofcourse.

I just got the faxed copy of the check - picking up the original during lunch. I now have a dl # as well as a bank account number. The check was signed by a Robin Bowen (who it was made out to) and then signed by some one else. I cant make out the name on the copied check, however i have his DL #. I called the post office branch and they are sending me papers to file a mail fraud case. about to call the police dept and file a report, then the better business bureau If any one has any more ideas let me know.
Thanks

Sounds like a plan, however, I would file that Postmaster's report in person. Their wheels turn slowly, especially through the mail, and that will help.
