For better or worse, it?s looking like there are just way too many games that have my eye this week. It?s not that I?m looking to force any plays or force action on any high profile games, but I?m likely to trust a season?s worth of capping if a game looks worth a play by the same standards I try to consistently apply. On the other hand, my best hedge against a huge helping of rivalry mischief will be to steer clear of any teams I haven?t been tracking with regularity. When the dust settles, I?ll be able to measure my success this week by whether I would have done as well just limiting myself to one play on Oklahoma(-19) for two units. Away we go . . .
Fresno State(+8') (1*)
Boise State giving points was 5-0 for me last year and 1-0 this year, and on the whole they have distinguished themselves as an equal of last year?s squad, but I think they have to go some to blitz the energy and intensity this live dog is going to uncork in this spot. Give me those points.
Oklahoma(-19) (1.25*)
Bob Stoops clearly has his best team at Oklahoma, and he has done nothing but push the right buttons all season long. When I wonder how much focus Oklahoma will bring to this matchup, I just need to believe the Heisman Trophy stakes between Jason White and B.J. Symons still registers a pulse. Tech stops no one on defense, and their spread offense will contend with speed all over the field, with waves of physical and disciplined Sooners adding a cherry on top. Moreover, coming off a tough loss to Texas is not a sweet spot for a fairly hopeless 4th quarter push if it comes down to that.

USC(-22) (1*)
Going on two seasons now, when USC has better motivation or a good spot, it?s been a one way street - BIG. Men of Troy: I?m with you again.
California(-9) (1*)
Seriously - I?ll be stunned if Cal lets Stanford hang around and gives them a juicy opportunity to stick a dagger through their hopes of defining their darn good season with a Bowl bid.
